Opened in 1826, Boston's famous Union Oyster House restaurant was the third business to occupy 41 Union Street on the historic Freedom Trail. Early patrons included Daniel Webster, who frequently stopped in for a tall glass of brandy and as many as six plates of raw oysters.

The mother duck and her ducklings, which took local artist Nancy Schön two years to create, were installed in the Boston Public Garden in 1987 to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the popular green space.

Visitors tour the lush courtyard of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, which houses more than 2,500 works by Botticelli, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, and other world-famous artists. The museum, in Boston's Fenway neighborhood, is styled after a 15th-century Venetian palace.

The Historic Bigelow Chapel in Watertown, built in the mid-1800s, boasts an intricate Gothic-style rose window and 14 turrets. The chapel frequently hosts funeral services for those buried in the Mount Auburn Cemetery (just 600 feet from the chapel's front doors), which was founded in 1831 as America's first landscaped cemetery.
