My name is Joanne and I am a Holistic Therapist based in Dukinfield, Cheshire. I specialise in Reiki and Crystal Therapy and I use crystals and gemstones in my jewellery creations. Gaia, also called Gaea, Ghia or Ge was the Greek goddess of the earth. Gaia came into existence after Chaos and produced the sky, mountains and sea. With the sky Ouranus,
Gaia was the mother of the Titans, Cyclops, and Hecatoncheires. With Pontus, Gaia was the mother of Nereus,
Thaumas, Phorcys, Ceto, and Eurybia. She was the great mother of all. Ghia is the personification of the earth. She appears in the character of a divine being as early as the Homeric poems.

Ghia is the Mother Goddess who cares for the earth, and gives birth to all who reside there. This graceful mother Goddess gently cradles the Earth. Every curve of her pose reveals her loving concern for all life. Her worship dates back to at least 6500 BCE. Greeks worshipped her as Gaia, the Deep-Breasted One, Oldest of the Old.

One of the best ways to benefit from a crystal's healing properties is to wear it. Crystals come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and colours. Their matrixes follow the patterning of Sacred Geometry. Crystals and gemstones are living organisms and have a life energy of their own. They are part of the Mineral Kingdom and most are grown in nature although some that are synthetically produced.

From as far back as the days of the legendary lost city of Atlantis, through the ancient Mayan and Hebrew civilizations and including Far Eastern and Native American cultures, crystals and gemstones have been used both in spiritual rituals and as aids to physical healing.

Crystal healing is based on the theory that individual crystals, gemstones and minerals have a certain frequency of energy and that by placing a crystal within the energy field of a person will influence the way that energy field behaves. Illness is seen as incorrectly flowing or blocked energy. The correct crystal or combination of crystals will remedy the blockage leading to the correct flow of energy and a cessation of illness. All crystals take in and give out energy and as illness and pain can be seen as too much or two little energy, by using a crystal we can put
energy into a place or take it away. When we do this we influence the energy field, which in turn influences the physical body. This is the simple theory of crystal healing.
