THE OUTSIDE SOLE OF THE BOOT OR SHOE FOR LENGTH, FROM THE TIP OF TOES TO WALL THAT BOOTS ARE PUT UP AGAINST FLAT SURFACE WITH A METAL TAPE MEASURE.   THIS IS NOT THE LENGTH OF FOOT THAT FITS INSIDE THE BOOT BUT THE TOTAL INCHES OF THE BOOT SOLE.   SOME SPACE SHOULD BE ALLOWED FOR TOE ROOM. WIDTH IS MEASURED ON OUTSIDE SOLE AT WIDEST POINT OF FORE FOOT.. These charts are only approximate and taken from various shoe boot and hat sites. I find that on Justin boots most women drop down a whole size in boots from their shoe size, this observation is variable depending on the boot. That is why I put length measurements in inches in my auctions. Statement below is from a chart site on fitting boots. Boots are lasted with a fuller cut. When ordering boots, generally men drop down 1/2 size from your normal shoe size. Ladies also generally drop down 1/2 size from your normal shoe size.
