Ken Revalee was always passionate in blacksmithing as child. Much time was spent studying the Medieval Ages and tools of the time, through illustrated books and watching others create metal crafts. He often dreamed of becoming proficient in blacksmithing.
He became stirred in metal artwork during his career as a building construction worker. He was often found bending; cutting metal and creating functional tools from scrap materials at his job site. Most of these objects had artistic flare, as he would always take it a step further and apply his creative style.
Ken seemed to be drawn to flea markets, browsing through iron works and art fairs, seeking items with functional and artistic values within the Appalachian of East Tennessee area. He became inspired to venture out further leaning more towards the Arts, and he then took a job working in his spouse’s family business in Florida where he picked up the skills of a welder by doing fencing, gate repairs and fabrications which added now another needed dimension in his artistic ability. |
