Hello.  I suppose you could consider this a pseudo blog of sorts, as I am working on process and finding my mission statement…

I love creating paintings- the way the paint interacts with the canvas, the brush, itself, and me.  Creating sharp edges that overlap and create a sense of depth intrigues me.  I love color and enjoy the playfulness of how they interact and affect each other- not so different then relationships.  I truly enjoy shading- creating a roundness; a depth.  I have begun to uncover the give and take of masculine vs. feminine and how they support each other and work together to create more than they are alone.  This support and balance between the masculine & feminine I am playing with in my latest work, sunflowers, a red pitcher & a fireplace.  I am working my way into simple beauty as well as creating intimate spaces for people to relate to and get lost in.  I am also amazed at how these paintings have a life of their own, almost as something bigger as the grand orchestrator, expressing, interacting, creating relationship- not only relationship with the subject matter in the painting, but relationship between me and the viewer, a give and take, the push and pull.  The idea we could not know each other at all, and yet share a moment of feeling, perhaps understanding, in a world that sometimes seems to have too little uniting.  I am grateful to have this opportunity to share this with you.  Thanks for looking.
