About the Refugee Charity Auction

Thank you for your interest in helping with the Kosovo disaster relief effort. eBay has teamed up with five other Internet auction companies to reach out to their respective communities to raise money to meet the emergency humanitarian needs of Kosovo refugees. This was announced in a press release on April 12, 1999. You can help by selling and bidding on the Kosovo Charity Auctions held on eBay or by donating the proceeds of your auctions to the American Red Cross. Credit card donations are also being accepted at the American Red Cross. Please make all checks for items or direct donations payable to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, c/o "Internet Giving", P. O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 or by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW. Internet users can make a secure online credit card contribution by visiting http://www.redcross.org and choosing International Response Fund as their option of giving. In addition to the American Red Cross, the following international non-profit agencies are currently accepting contributions to aid war refugees.

This is a call to our community to come together in a unified effort to help the refugees of the Kosovo region. eBay users can help in two ways Donate proceeds of your eBay auction directly to the American Red Cross Write a check to the American Red Cross Tips for the Seller Request that checks are written directly to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, c/o "Internet Giving". Request that checks are sent to you (seller) directly so that you have confirmation and tracking of the donation to the American Red Cross. Add "Kosovo Relief" auction in the title and explain in the description that checks are written to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, c/o "Internet Giving". In order for your fees for these charity auctions to be waived for the auctions you are conducting on eBay for this benefit, please email the following information to: kosovorelief@ebay.com. Item number, email, amount of the auction, a written statement that proceeds were sent to the American Red Cross, and the amount of the final value fee. If you are also requesting listing fee refunds, please specify this in the email. Tips for Buyers Make sure you are a registered user.
