About the charity: The New York Police & Fire Widows& Children Benefit Fund, Inc. was established in 1985 by Daniel J. ustyStaub to assist the families of police and firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty. The fund gives grieving families a $10,000 check immediately after they lose their loved one, regardless of financial need. Not only are these families left with the loss of a loved one, but often, they become burdened with lifelong financial hardships. The charity is an IRS Section 5013) corporation.
