Hi! Welcome to my "About Me" page. I'll try to answer some frequently asked questions about my auctions here. I'm sorry it sounds so strict but I've really had to buckle down on people to keep from being taken advantage of. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME ASKING FOR DONATIONS!! I sell on Ebay to suppliment my disability checks, I am not rich enough to donate items to you or anyone else!! About the negatives: The first is from a buyer who sent cash despite me requesting her not to. Said cash was lost in the mail and, instead of taking responsibility, the buyer decided to lie and claim I insisted upon cash. I don't like taking cash at all and I was very clear that it was risky and I'd prefer a money order. She sent cash anyhow. The second is from a buyer who never sent payment but claimed she did. I told her I'd quite happily send her item if she traced the money order and proved I'd recieved it. She told me to "stop harassing her" and left a negative instead. I don't believe she ever sent it since tracing a money order is fast and quite easy (I do it often) and instead refused my offer. As for the third - This seller claimed to take money orders in his auction description but didn't bother to contact me with an address to mail to until after the 10 days he "must recieve payment in" had passed. When I brought this up to him, he was nothing but rude and aimed personal insult after personal insult at me. He believed he didn't need to contact me or give me an address to mail a payment to and acted like I was lying when I said I didn't have Paypal. I didn't have Paypal at the time, I didn't get an account until May of 2006. Sadly, Ebay doesn't protect buyers from rude sellers such as this one leaving them holding all the cards and me with a nice mark on my account. Thanks Ebay. The most recent is from a seller who apparently does not know how to use Ebay. He left me negative feedback which disputed what had happened during the transaction. He opened a dispute claiming I had not paid. I supplied a scan of the MO stub and proof that it was now being traced. He closed the dispute without waiting for the trace to finish. Why would he do that for free and without waiting for the MO trace to come back? In Ebay's eyes, this is him saying the transaction IS completed and he WAS paid (that's why the strike was removed so quickly) Note also MY response below and his reply to it proving that there WAS contact between us previous to this. The auction closed on May 7th, payment was made on May 8th. I'd say that's pretty prompt! Now here's my FB page - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v234/spirityouko/FB.jpg He claims I didn't pay. The MO stub proves otherwise. He claims there was no contact. The dispute panel proves that false. There was an email sent IMMEDIATLY after I recieved the strike as well which he never replied to. There certainly was contact and payment PLUS he's apparently sent the items on top of that! F.A.Q. about my auctions Q. Do you take Paypal? A. NO. The Paypal account I've been lucky enough to use is my mother's. I can pay auctions from it but if you send payment there, she'll get it, not me, and you won't get your item. Q. But I sent you a Paypal payment! A. Yes, I do have a linked Paypal account FINALLY but as I said, it's my mother's and while I can ask her to allow me to pay a seller from it, any payments made to it won't reach me. Q. Do you take personal checks? A. NO. I don't have a bank account. If you send me a check, I will send it back and give you 7 days to send a Postal Money Order. Q. What kind of Money Orders do you accept? A. I prefer Postal Money Orders as I go through the least amount of hassle to cash those. Any other kind has to be able to be cashed at a grocery store and you must include a $1.00 cashing fee. If I can't cash it, I will send it back to you. Q. I'm sending you a Western Union/Money Gram/Non-Postal Money Order, is this okay? A. Yes but please include the $1.00 fee. I'm charged this for cashing it. Q. Who do I make the Money Order out to? A. Please make it out to Beth Rugg. Q. I'm an international bidder, how do I pay? A. With an international postal money order. Most countries will issue these, they're pink in color and cost around $3.00. The benefit is that it's guarenteed that I'll get your money or that if it's lost, you'll get a refund. The only other way is well concealed cash in an envelope. Q. Why is shipping $4.00 and up in the US? Can't you ship any cheaper? A. I could but I prefer to ship by Priority mail for the least amount of hassles. Often it's just as expensive for me to ship parcel post because I have to buy the mailer from the P.O. Q. My item got lost in the mail! Will you refund my money? A. Did you buy insurance? If so, I'll be more than happy to send you whatever refund I get from the post office on the insured package. If you skipped out on getting the insurance, I'm not responsible for the package once it leaves my hands and you're out of luck. Q. My package got damaged in the mail! Will you refund my money? A. If you bought Postal insurance, you'll need to go down to your local PO with the item and the packaging it came in to show that it was damaged. There's a form you'll fill out and send to me, I'll then be able to get a refund from the PO and send it to you. If you didn't get insurance, I'm not responsible for the package once it leaves my hands. Q. How much do you insure items for? A. Whatever your winning bid minus postage was unless you request different. Q. I sent my payment two weeks ago. Where's my package? A. Did you include a piece of paper with the auction info and your address on it so I knew what you were paying for? (Please don't put auction info only on the MO itself, once this is cashed I don't get it back and your info is lost.) If I get a money order without any clue as to what it's for, I'll consider it a donation. If I haven't gotten the payment in two weeks after you sent it, chances are it's lost. The great thing about Money Orders is that you can trace them and if the post office can't find them, you get a refund. Q. Are you sure you don't take Paypal? A. .....positive... |
