My name is Alexis Poulos, born in Kansas, but rarely lived there. I was raised by Sophia Poulos, my grandmother, who passed away when I was barely 19. She was so loved by everybody and when you met her, you really felt, "goodness". She had great taste, was a wonderful Greek cook, did beautiful handwork, wonderful at gardening and so full of love! I hope I've been able to express that in my jewelry designs!

I am finishing my book, and sequel in Las Vegas, where my mother Frances Kann (Wise, also from Wichita,Kansas) lived until I was 17, and ran a poodle shop, Collar and Leash, my half-sister, Marilou Kann/Garfinkle, went to Las Vegas High School.

Francis was so talented with needlepoint, stain glass, sewing, knitting, as was my grandma Wise and her mother, from Wellington, Ks. the Harlan's. My grandma Wise collected Mariam Haskell jewelry!

My great-grandfather Harlan, was a mayor for 12 years and had a pool hall in Wellington, he also helped unionize the railroad, and many a fight there was, in front of that pool hall! I suppose that's where I get my strength, in fighting injustice and the abuse of power that has been going on in my life, without my knowledge and with my knowledge!

I know you'll love my books that I'm self-publishing in the very near future, they are not "politically correct" and they might "offend you" LOL

I love the beads of talented bead makers, around the world. They are what make my designs so "original" and hard to "copy". I had to give up t-shirt design because of that, and had boutique shows in the Javett's in New York, Bally's in Atlantic City, The Ice House in San Francisco, the Super shows in Florida, and hopefully, those days are almost over!
