the Artist
Hi, I MaryAnn Cavanaugh, the owner and artist of
Little Pieces of Heaven. I deeply appreciate and sincerely thank you
for your interest, and for taking the time to read about me.
I am a stay at home mother of two beautiful young children, whom I
thank God for every day. They truly are my world. I am so grateful
to be able to stay home with them and watch them grow, as not many
women have this luxury available to them these days; I cherish each
moment I have with them. I have a handsome three year old son who
is quite the charmer (as well as a little stinker!) and I have an
angelic daughter who is one year old and can melt your heart with
her sweet little face. I have absolutely no idea how I ever got
along before they came into my life, as nothing I have ever done
before them can compare to being their ommy.They are my
inspiration as a Reborn Doll Artist, as well as everything else that
I do; as any mother knows, babies (sadly) grow up way too fast...
 Originally from New York City (born and bred, I am proud to say!), I
currently live with my (very handsome and good hearted) husband
and our two little angels in the beautiful countryside of North
Eastern Pennsylvania. I also have a beautiful stepdaughter who is 14
years old (already!) We are fortunate to have her live with us
during the summers when she is out of school. I am very thankful to God
that He has given me so much more than I ever asked for, or ever
dreamed of having in life. Yes, God is good!!!
Not to say there haven been bumps along the way in lifee are all
human here; living and learning every day just like everyone else
out there! I have to say that I absolutely know it is my love for
and complete faith in God that has brought me this far. I thank Him
wholeheartedly for giving me a true love of all art and everything
that is beautiful, as well as creative. Additionally, I am grateful
to Him for giving me the artistic abilities and knowledge (which I
have continued to develop ever since I was old enough to pick up a
crayon) in order to create these beautiful lifelike babies. I am a
perfectionist at heart, and I am committed to creating babies of the
highest quality, using only the finest quality materials and
supplies available. I strive to constantly learn and improve upon my
skills and abilities as an artist, and generally everything that I
do! My ultimate goal is my customer complete satisfaction, which
brings me such joy and is my cherished reward for creating these
precious babies.
Love and appreciation of various types of art has always been second
nature to me. My first love was sewing; I can still remember sitting
with my grandmother at her Singer sewing machine at the young age of
4 years old, wishing I had a sewing machine of my own. I have over
twenty years knowledge and experience in all aspects of fashion
design (including draping, pattern making, art/design and sewing),
and I have over fourteen years experience in business and sales. I
was honored to be chosen to attend the High School of Fashion
Industries in NYC, where I studied all aspects of Fashion Design for
four years. Naturally, I continued on to the Fashion Institute of
Technology, where I then turned my attention and studies to the
business end of Fashion Buying and Merchandising. After fours years
of that, I felt pretty well-rounded in both the artistic and
business aspects of Fashion. I then pursued a career in
New York City Garment District, where my main focus was on sales.
After three years, I realized however, that although I love art,
fashion and business, the Fashion Industry was just not for me, in
terms of a career. Thereafter, from a professional standpoint, my
focus remained in sales, but in other unrelated industries; and my
artistic and creative talents were used mainly for hobby or leisure.
It was not until I stumbled upon the art of Reborning dolls that I
finally found my niche, what I have always been meant to do! God has
guided me (slowly) to this venue of art which I love so, and I can
tell you that He inspires me and guides my hands every step of the
way as I create each new baby. Incidentally, I believe each baby has
a special and specific mommy/daddy chosen for him/her before I have
even begun my work! These reborns (which I usually refer to as
babies) seem to take on a life all their own as I create them.it
is just so amazing! It is my hope that each will touch your heart,
as they all have touched mine while creating them.
It is my sincere hope that you thoroughly enjoy your visit here, as
much as I have enjoyed creating it all for everyone to see. It is my
belief that God creates each and every one of us uniquely; with
something special in mind for each of us, which we are meant to
contribute to this world. Therefore, this is not only my service to
you, but also to the Lord, for He alone has blessed me with these
talents to use, as well as my love for and need to use them.

~ In my prayers every single day are; my dearest daughter and sweet
little angel Cali Cher, born a year ago with Spina Bifida, rendering
her paralyzed below her hips among other complications; my dear and
wonderful husband Joe, (a retired ~ and brave ~ NYC firefighter) who
had to retire after 9-11-01 and has Multiple Sclerosis; and my
father-in-law, who has fought (and so far won, thank God) a battle
with lung cancer for over a year-and-a-half ~

Policy

 My
business ethics are quite simply based upon honesty, integrity and
mutual respect. I always use the highest quality materials and
supplies, and I stand behind all of my work 100%. I will always do
my very best to resolve any issues you may have in the unlikely
event you are not completely satisfied.

My
business is open and operated Monday thru Friday, and I do check
my emails regularly throughout those days.
I am always happy to hear from you! Likewise, I ship daily Monday thru Friday. All auctions paid for
in full will ship out within two business days (Monday thru
Friday) from date full payment is received by me. I will advise
shipping details/lead time on an individual basis for all custom
orders. I am closed on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and the
following holidays : New Year Day, President Day, Good Friday,
Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the
following Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I will always
advise in advance of any days that I plan to be closed for
vacation.
All
of my babies are always shipped ~ insured ~ via USPS
Priority Mail 2-3 days to protect both the buyer and myself in the
rare and unfortunate event of loss or damage during shipment. This
way, your baby can also be traced all the way to your door and
into your loving arms .
Expedited delivery is also available upon buyer request, at an
additional charge. Please email me for a price quote.
I
do ship worldwide....... Please email me for a shipping quote if
outside the Continental U.S. PRIOR to bidding or ordering.
I will not be responsible for any shipping, customs and/or duty
charges etc.
I
prefer Paypal as method of
payment. I do accept money orders however, in which case your
order will be shipped only after I have received your payment in
the mail. Sorry, but I do not accept personal checks or
credit/debit card payments outside of Paypal.
I
must be contacted by winning bidder/buyer within 24 hours of
auction end with plans for payment, and All payments must be
received by me within 7 days after auction end. I do reserve the
right to re-list any orders not paid for within this specified
time period, unless we have mutually agreed upon another
arrangement of course . (With all due respect, all non-paying
winning bidders WILL be reported.)
For
all custom orders, I do require a 50% down payment, and 50%
balance payment is due upon completion, prior to shipping.

All sales are Final ~ as each baby is carefully inspected
and lovingly cradled and packaged by me, personally, prior to
shipping. I will only ship a baby of the highest quality and
craftsmanship possible; one that I would buy myself. Please read
my section on ~ The Process ~ as I am sure you will find it very
interesting as well as informative.
All
of my work is done in a pet friendly, smoke-free environment .
Last, but not least, returns will not be accepted due to buyer
remorse.
