As an artist, you have to take that leap of faith in order to market & sell your work. Over the past 5 years, I have jumped off the cliff, and have had success! Creating a unique one-of-a-kind piece of artwork is like the feeling you have when you have won a prize. My work diverse in content, unique in nature is not the same or similar to other artists. My passion - Classic Cars & Cats, an odd combination I admit, although I have not included them both on one canvas. Cats because I see a million different expressions on their faces, perhaps all meaning the same thing: “What?” If you know cats, you know what I mean. Cars? Well, I am drawn to the shapes of classic cars, so bubbly & alive, in pastel GM colors from the 50’s to their shiny grills and headlights that seem to look back at you. I name each car a female name from the error in which it was made. Although I am starting my weekly auctions on Ebay with 8×8 inch cat portraits, keep an eye out for some car paintings in the future. In the past two years I have been asked to create commissioned works for customers (cats, dogs and cars.) Commission work has challenged me to work with more detail capturing the “true” personality of each animal. I apply the same (find the personality of the car) principle to the classic cars that I paint. As added audience participation I am asking for digital cat pictures emailed to me for use as a model in a future cat, dog (such as the one shown) or car paintings.
