We Find Labs Loving Homes
Central Indiana Lab Rescue & Adoption (CILRA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose goal is placing rescued, purebred Labrador Retrievers in new loving homes. Labradors are among the most popular breeds, which results in a correspondingly large number of rescue situations. Some Labs come into rescue from animal shelters or are found as strays. Many dogs are surrendered to CILRA by owners whose lifestyles have changed or who don't have space or time for them. CILRA's resuce and adoption efforts extend throughout an 11-state area, with most rescue and adoption efforts occuring in the Indianapolis and Chicago areas. CILRA's rescue and adoption services are available for the entire life of each dog. It is through our dedicated volunteer network that nearly 1300 Labs will have been given a second chance by the end of the year 2003!
How Your Bid on Ebay Makes a Difference for Labs in Need
CILRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, therefore 100% of all proceeds go directly to the care of our rescued Labs. All CILRA Labs receive vaccinations and other veterinary care, which is our biggest expense. Other avenues of fundraising for these costs are through carwashes, garage sales, annual flower sales and booths at dog shows, veterinarian clinics or pet supply stores and donations. These serve not only to help raise needed funds, but also find new adopters or volunteers, and raise public awareness about rescue efforts. We consider giving a Lab a second chance priceless and with your help can truly make a difference!
