Unique? Absolutely! This photograph of The JimStone is, in fact, the central piece of a larger work, Rebellious Restless Art. I will feature the larger work soon.
Face it: Rock N Roll is here to stay. As a 60s child, I have always respected my generation for being the most active youth in our history. We questioned everything and changed many things for the better. Yes, Jim tested the "limits". He is loved by many and despised by a few precisely for that reason. Jim was out there, among us, learning from us and bringing the knowledge he obtained to us, through the magic of his words and The Doors' music. This Stone is testament to that. It is People's Art, wherein lies its true beauty.
Even today, 35 years later, those who despised him then continue their Jim-bashing at every opportunity. But I'll never forget that day in Pere Le Chaise, 13 years after Jim's passing. A group of us went to view the French elite and found arrows everywhere, pointing to "Jim". When we arrived at the Stone, there were young, vibrant youth discussing an era gone by: the 1960s in the USA, Rock N Roll and The Doors. It was exciting even then!
The Stone stood out among all others: a true expression of ourselves that day - still rebellious, still restless. Purchase The JimStone. With it, you purchase a piece of my heart.
