Just wanted y'all to know a little about me. I was born in a small Eastern North Carolina town. My parents were born in the 1920s. My Dad was in the Army in WWII. We have many pictures and documents relating back to that time. My parents, aunts, uncles, etc. saved many items. My Mother became an avid town, church and family historian. And thus began my interest in "old stuff". Much of what I sell is "old stuff". I like to call it recycling. My siblings and I keep the old items that are meaningful to us, but I don't just want to throw away the rest. It has too much history behind it, and there might just be someone else out there who likes it, collects it, wants to display it. So if you purchase something from me, thanks for helping me "recycle".
And so now I've extended into buying other folks' "old stuff". "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Auctions (a true recycling center) have become addictive. You can get so many items at real deals. For my home, I'd rather have an item with a little history behind it, than to have a brand new item. And so it goes......
Also, as far as recycling goes, if you purchase any of my items, I will be shipping it to you in "recycled" packing materials for the most part. I have yet to actually have to purchase any boxes. I have recruited all family members to save their boxes for me to reuse. I made everyone give their Christmas boxes, tissue paper and discarded wrapping paper to me after Christmas was over. And my husband's sister-in-law gave me lots and lots of plastic grocery store bags. My bank even saves boxes for me. So please don't be surprised when you open a box from me. The bubble wrap used for fragile items is about the only new packing material you might see from me. And after you've opened your package from me, please recycle the materials again, if possible. Thanks
