See My Many Listings on EBAY!
Hi and thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I have been a toy collector since 1985, first as a Post War Lionel Train and Plasticville collector and operator then as a Marx Playset collector. I have had various train/toy rooms over the years. I am 60 years old, born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and have recently re-located to Virginia Beach, VA after spending nearly 26 years in Phoenix, Arizona. I have 3 grown children and 2 exceptionally beautiful granddaughters. |

Running trains and admiring Playset displays
One of the best things about this hobby is that you get to play with your investment (can't do that with stock certificates), while hopefully it increases in value. But that is really secondary. As a child, my parents would build a two platform Christmas layout with a post war S Gauge American Flyer diesel work set complete with village. Years later we upgraded (?) to an American Flyer HO steam set. Over the years they also bought me a Marx Fort Apache playset and I remember spending hours playing with that set, course I never could get the 6 piece blockhouse to set just right. I guess that toy was so successful that Mom bought me another after I destroyed the first one. I now have all the sets made. That childhood experience was rekindled when my wife bought me a used Lionel train set and it started a toy love affair that has now lasted 20 years. It is a great experience just looking at my displays and enjoy even looking at the boxed sets not displayed and daydream about being part of the Prince Valiant Castle Fort or the Fort Apache or seeing Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on the ranch......Happy Trails to you all! CHECK OUT PLAYSET MAGAZINE Check out the #16 (July August 2004) PLAYSET MAGAZINE, that great publication of Kathy and Rusty Kern. In the "My Side" column by Kathy you will see a portion of my playset collection and a small train layout. That display was in Phoenix and I have since built a small platform in the family room with display shelfs and a changing layout using Marx Playsets and Lionel/Marx Trains. |
