Welcome to my life!
The women on my mother's side have always worked with textiles. My great grandmother was an affluent seamstress during the depression in New York City. A wiry exuberant woman with a mass of curls and a sharp eye for design, she never needed to take measurements of her customers. My grandmother quilted for the entire family, fighting breast cancer till the end. Her daughter keeps alive the traditional crochet forms and made my childhood clothes. I, on the other hand, am fascinated with the reproduction of historical clothes and enjoy theater costume support. I studied anthropology and German in college, even spending a year abroad in Heidelberg, but my passion was always fabric. I've worked in enough businesses to understand that I want to be my own boss. So, here I am starting my passion over Ebay and the internet.

I have done commission work through out the years and I will add picture links below. Right now, I am working on a friend's custom wedding dress. She is a fellow seamstress, and I as her maid of honor have offered to construct her dress as a wedding gift. Between the two of us and a mass of historical texts, we have come up with a composite design with strong regency overtones. I plan to document this endeavor and will update my pictures accordingly.
