I have been a member of the eBay community for a long time now. I have had some really good experiences and some really bad ones. I haven't lost much money, because I am very careful about WHO I buy from. I hope I can share some insite for you to have a better ebay experience.
1.I NEVER BUY from a member who has less than 200 feedback. If the member is a power seller, the negative feedback should be pretty low. Follow the most recent negatives and see what the members are complaining about. I usually disregard a member who leaves negative feedback if he has 0-50 buys under his belt
2.The small the feedback, the better their rating should be, if the member only has 200 or less, if they have any negative strikes aginst them. I stay away.
3.I believe in honest eBay. Meaning I think that the majority of eBay sellers are honest. BUT...... I like to see pictures of the Item I am purchasing. What I mean is, I like to see REAL pictures, not the advertisement of the picture.
4.I look at all the items they have been selling, to make sure they are selling me something they know about. If I want to buy shoes, I want to see that the seller is selling shoes and clothes, not computer equipment.
5.BUY IT NOW. Probably the best invention eBay has. I usually know what I want to spend (including shipping) There is no hassle this way, but the above still applies.
BAD EXPERIENCES
The first bad experience I had involved buying laptop memory from a power seller. That seller took my money and never sent the item, then unregistered. I am sure that person made a killing, but there was nothing I could do.
The second time, the seller actually told me they couldn't find the item in their storage facility. Whatever. At least I got a refund, Just a big waste of time and my daugter was disapointed she didn't get the item she wanted for Christmas (That eBayer should have been ashamed of themselves)
Another time, I made a simple BAD DECISION, and got what I paid for. I fell for the "Wholesale List" scam. I figured, whats 5 bucks right? Well what I got wasn't worth 5 cents. So I learned a lesson on that one.
The last one I got recently, left me clueless. The seller actually put an item up for bid that he didn't have, he had a good enough rating, and was a power seller, so all of my rules applied, they guy sent me an email, said he didn't have it in stock, then refunded my money, and all of a sudden I get this email that says "Hey this is eBay, the seller says you backed out of the auction, we want to know if its true so we can refund his money" (in so many words) So what choice did I have, I said yes so he could get the refund. He then leaves Positive feedback for me. Strange. So of course, I DIDN'T do the same to him and left a scaulding NEGATIVE. What he did was DISHONEST, and that isn't what eBay is all about. he tried to cheat the system. Whatever. The point is, all my auctions are for things I HAVE and either don't need anymore or just trying to get rid of closet space. I would NEVER SELL anything that was broken, damaged, or not in tip-top condition. Otherwise I am taking the chance that YOU (the buyer) won't be happy. I never sell anyting I wouldn't buy back from you. So remember that when you see my auction listings. I do my best to describe them and I let you know if something is missing. So remember that when you buy from me you are buying from a HONEST seller with INTEGRITY, thats what makes the eBay experience work.
