The Motive
I have been painting and drawing for over 10 years, since the age of 14. I continued to get better as the years went on and I became specialized in watercolor, oil pastel, charcoal, pencil, pen & ink, and currently oils (the hardest of all mediums, in my case). I have even dabbled in clay sculpture as well as faux finishing as a part time job over the Summers of '99 and 2000. I also have been working with miniature house materials (such as bricks, platform wood, stains, and stained glass). I have worked on several remodeling jobs involving tumbled stone, installation of tiles, and participation in the architectural design. All of my art comes from inspiration and by the beauty of what I think is ideal. I often have painted several studies from other famous artists to learn new techniques. Many of these studies I have decided to sell so others can have some art in their life and enjoy it as much as I have. In the past 2 years I have also grown an interest in Botany and landscape design, as well as the art of Bonsai. I enjoy plants and being able to study them. Overall, this has sparked an interest in the natural world and has given me a keen eye of observation. I have been to some amazing arboretums and world famous gardens, especailly the Los Angeles County Arboretem, Huntington Gardens (near Pasadena) and the Strybing in San Francisco. Also, not to be overlooked - check out the Disneyland Storybook Land boat ride.
Currently I am attending a 2 year college in Pittsburg, California. I am currently working on a degree in Licensed Vocational Nursing. I currently work at the Contra Costa Times, a newspaper which is central in the East Bay Area (East of San Francisco, that is). I am a Classified Sales Rep.
On Ebay, I generally bid on items related to Gone With the Wind, Vivien Leigh, or anything connected to Classic Films. I do bid more on Vivien Leigh items, as I am a part time collector/hobbyist of her memorabilia. I also like to bid on books, postcards, magazines, or anything that just strikes my fancy.
