I'm located in NYC... I've worked in the fashion industry for too many years, LOL! I've been a fashion designer, technical designer, & now i'm database admin for a program that the designers & technical designers use, called WebPDM. I went to college at the Fashion Institute of Technology, like many other people in the fashion industry.
In my spare time, i buy & sell items on Ebay... like everyother person!
I collect many different items: Dolls, sewing machines & clothes!
SINGER SEWING MACHINES: Singer Touch & Sew's are my FAVORITE! These machines are from the late 60's & 70's. There noted features are the wind-in-place bobbin, slant needle, & cute little duckie stitches! Of course, they are also known as the start of Singers quality downfall~ using CHEAP plastic gears! Stay with a Singer 600 or 600e if you want to be CERTIAN your machine has METAL gears, & many built in stitches! I also have 1 vintage Necchi machine from the early 60's.... the Supernova ultra! Very cool machine, it literally does HUNDEREDS of stitches! Very ahead of it's time, in many ways.
DOLLS: A few of my favorite dols are Blythe, Little Big Eyes dolls, Dawn, Silkstone Barbies, Reproduction Barbies, & of course, vintage Barbies. I started collecting 70's pop culture dolls, like "Charlies Angels, & Cher, back in the late 1980's before ebay. Back then, it was RARE to find 1 or 2 Charlies Angels dolls at a flea market twice a year, now you can find dozens everyday on ebay, the international flea market!
CLOTHES: It's one of the reasons I moved to NYC & got into the fashion biz! I LOVED the designer jeans of the late 1970's... Jordache, was & still is my favorite jean! They were dark, & slim cut! I also loved the original Calvin Klein jean that Brooks Sheilds modeled... & I use to dream of working at CK jeans! Never thought that would happen, but it did, just when they were bringing back the original Calvin "Brooke" jean, with that classic white & red label! Other vintage jeans that i love are Vintage Sasson, & Sergio Valente!
