I bagan this adventure many years ago when I first started trading with the Chippewa's (Ojibwe) and Ottawa's (Odawa) in my school at Brethern, Michigan. Most of the Indian students lived near the Big Manistee River on the Old Reservation land. I hunted and fished with them as well and learned how to pull fish with my hands from nearby Pine Creek and Big Bear Creek. We would wear polaroid sunglasses and we could spot the rainbow trout for 15 to 20 feet in the water. We would rush the bank,wave our hands and herd them into thr deep pools under log jams.Then we would slowly climb out on the log jams,look for the tail,fins,and place our right hand in the water to cool down.Then without bumping the tail or rear fins slowly move up the body to the gills,as soon as we discovered the gills the trout was as good as dead.We would plunge our thumb and forefinger into the gills right behined the head and hang on for dear life. LOLOLOL
The 16, 17. 24.lb fish would try to take off with one last surge of power, sometimes succeeding pulling us into the stream as long as we held on we had the fish! We would pull it out and run for the shore. Then home with the threshing heavy fish,spewing golden eggs along the trail, trying to avoid the game wardens each step of the way.
Usually,we would slab the fish into steaks and cook the fish right away and share it with the whole family,or whoever was in the vicinity,maybe get some fry bread and boiled coffee in the process.I had to begin this with a fish story.
The Old Reservation Area is now owned by the LITTLE RIVER BAND OF ODAWA INDIANS. Their Land holdings have been returned and they live throughout the area.If you get a chance visit their area they will welcome you.They are a very friendly people.

My main product is the best HURON Indian Made Mocassins on the market. They are made in a small cottage industry near the Wendake Reserve in Quebec Canada. They matain quality control by selecting the very best materials available and then carefully hand and machine each stitch to perfection.The Huron-Wendat originally based their lives 0n a variating economy agriculture,gathering,fishing and hunting Moose. Like all their animals of subsistence, the moose were objects of appreciation and exceptional gratitude.Orginal/Moose
is called SONDAREINTA in the language of the Huron-Wendat.The Moose skins and parts serve in the fabricating of clothing,the moose's flesh is consumed,its entrails are used in a variety of ways(bowstrings,bags,rattles,and other works of art.Its tendons were used to sew garments. Bones were used as a variety of tools.Its rawhide used in a strong tradition of snowshoe making.
Its hair and fur was used in blankets and wraps. The Huron-Wendat recognize and honor the favors the Mother Earth supplies them with and demonstrate their gratitude by using all the deceased animal. Once the skins are used for clothing and blankets ,its hair and fur was used in decorating them. The mocassins are still trimmed in the age old traditions with the beads and fine moose hair embroidery that is exclusive to the Huron- Wendat Nation. They carry on all these traditions in the manufacturing process of the modern mocassins you find at my store.I in turn and in most part, feature Canadian and American Indian products and Items in my store with the eception of a few found items from my trading partners work.I prefer Trading or selling only American or Canadian Indian items and most are fine one of a kind like the Buffalo Robe featured here by my fine Ohio Valley Model Lady Shawnee.This robe was made by the most knowledgable craftspersons from the Standing Rock Reservation for warmth and ceremonial purposes.It went to a rugged CowBoy reeinactor in Hollywood. If you have these authentic Indian items one or several contact me first for a reasonable percentage sales contract and we will attempt our best to find a buyer that will meet your price. We will feature the item as long as necessary until the right buyer comes along. I have and will continue to give a full 7% to 10 percent of the
profit income I make back to Indian Children and abused mothers of Catholic and other Charities. Father Steve's Tiyospaye Club also needs you to join write him a letter and tell him you want to join!Tiyospaye what a beautiful Lakota concept,we are all extended family in the Eyes of the Great Creator or Mystery however you feel the Supreme Being inyour Soul!I have felt this mystery and Holy Spirit in the circles of many religions and people and I am forever grateful,from the Truely Religious people from plains of the west to the woods of the Northport Indian Mission Church,I have heard the Good News from Rev Marshall and Mary Collins, Father Gardiner,Father Hascall the Ojibwa Traditional Priest of The Keewanaw Bay,and have shared the campfires,boiled coffee and fry bread in many Traditional Camps, I am very grateful and look foward to seeing everyone again someday in that happy place at the end of the trail where the nice spring breeze always blows and the sun sets. I also have always believed on the Red Road and here in the store it is necessary to treat each customer who purchases a product with the same respect,kindness, and I attempted to do this with the greatest of care possible,sometimes I get tired or lose my patience with people who actually,lie,cheat and steal,but check my feedback comments and you will see how I have done it as well as possible thus far. Several pleased customers do not bother to fill out the feedback once they get those feet happy,happy,happy,!
So these numbers are actually much higher.There are also a few I have offended in someway, sometimes with something completely beyond my control,my Canadian products often get hung up at the border,a man with a bloody chain saw can get through but my box of moccasins gets held up! Sometimes it seems like things just happen, a listed item comes up missing or gets sent to the wrong person as we mail and ship. The Trickester is always present too. LOLOLOLOL I cannot believe it! The wrong Game Patch to the wrong Customer! LoLoL,do you think they all tell you hey,you send me the expensive $30.00 Turkey patch,I was supposed to get the 6.00 2001 Deer patch. NO LOLOL You should also know there are customers and people out here who actually try to knock you off a seller from the 100%
feedback rating as a game before they move on to the next 100% Ebay seller. Most seasoned Ebayer's have experienced this situation. Sometimes I write guides or reviews that you might not agree with, my greatest concern is not that you disagree or have a different opinion,or belief but that we all remain free to think,speak and write what we believe. I know these mocassins are absolutely a cut above all the rest in the materials selected,materials used, in construction,in the way they are constructed,in the way they maintain careful quality control. All customers tell me they can tell the difference immediately between these moccasins/mocassins whatever you want to call them, and the other brands they have
purchased and worn. They can tell as soon as they slide their feet into them! That is the same thing I noticed as I slid my feet into a pair several years ago at Gerald and June's Trading Post on the Shores of Lake Superior at Agawa Bay,Canada. It is also the main reason why I started selling and trading them accross the border,the country and now the world!You really need to purchase your first pair and wear them to see,feel,and experience the difference of these mocassins over the FAKE mocassins featured throughout Ebay and elsewhere that are given a Indian Name to fool you into believing they are Indian made by the first people.Believe me, most of the "Indian" mocassins featurered and sold on Ebay are fake copies made by laborors from other cultures in third world countries.They have been trained to make replicas of Indian clothing and Art with high quality precison and at the cost of losing their own cultural idenity. There is also a huge secondary market in these same used mocassins and other goods. The multi million dollar companies have built their business on Native sounding names to profit at the expense their customers and of true Native American or Canadian Indian Tribal artisans and crafts people. You can read more about these situations by typing the simple word moccasin in the in the search engine of (Ebays Guide and Review section) I have also written extensively about other well known fakes and fraud in the category of Collectible Indian Art and crafts.
I feature other quality trade goods mostly American or Canadian Indian obtained and time tested by people in my travels from Quebec to Mexico,from Maine to California and many places in between.I prefer to sell items from Tribal Artists with a Tribal Card and number but I also know that deserving DNA proven artists do not have the necesssary paper work due to adoption,foster care,embarrased lovers,and such. I do my best to help them too with documentation first and sales second. In January of 2005 I decided to pull my trucks off the road and place my trade blanket down in the World Marketplace called Ebay. I had been a member since 1999 and knew it would be an ideal trading and marketing venue for just about any Trader with a good product to sell. The on the road vending spaces costs were continuing to rise with the gasoline prices and it didn't make much sense to travel long distances to sell constantly and be on the road soooooo much. I was selling mostly to cowboys and Indians,at Gun Shows and Indian PowWows with a few fairs and Rodeos thrown in. There is still a viable market in some of these venues for you persons living nearby.
