About Me

Hi.

I am Sue. I have been on eBay since August 2001.

HTML

When I first started with eBay I had no idea what HTML was. I now know a little more about it. I use it all the time for creating my auction pages. I also use it when I post to one of the eBay Discussion Boards, such as the Bidding Board. A HTML tag consists of two tags, these are the commands for Bold:
<b>These tags make things Bold</b>
The first tag <b> would make your text Bold. The second tag </b> turns off the HTML command and your text will return to normal.

Basic HTML Commands

Here are a few more of the basic commands you can use to change the look of your text. You can cut and paste these and just change the text to suit yourself.

<font color=red>These tags change the font colour. </font>Try changing the colour.
<font size=+2>
These change the size. </font>Try + and - numbers.
<font face="georgia">These change the font.</font>

<b>These tags make things Bold</b>

Use this Practice Board to try out your HTML before going public.

Gifs

Gifs and Animated Gifs are fun to play with. They are quite easy to put in an auction or to place in a post on one of the forums.
To use this "cool" gif just cut and paste the following line :

<img src="http://susanbaylis.users.btopenworld.com/newpictures/cool1.gif">

If you want to use your own gifs you will have to find an online site that will host them. I have tried a site called Ranchoweb that is very good, there are others too. Once you have uploaded your gifs you then use this command to display them

<img src="http://www.Insert website details/name of gif">

If you search for "free gifs" or "free animated gifs" on the internet you will find thousands to practice with.

What now?

I have put some links on the left hand side of the page for you to try, they contain some very helpful bits and pieces. Remember, practice makes perfect.

GOOD LUCK

.
