About Us
We are a mother and daughter team who are collectors of lots of things ... angels, Boyd's Bears, Vintage Fisher Price toys, Barbie dolls, DVDs, books, and lots more. From time to time, we sell some treasured items to pay the bills or just make room and we have opened an Ebay store. My mother is a high school math teacher and I am a freelance writer.
Recently, we've added a friend to our "Family" with a custom page in our store called, "Grandpa's Attic" since the friend is selling inherited items he found in his parents' attic. There you will find vintage LP records, tools, glassware, and more!
We both love to not only sell on ebay, but purchase as well. I have a 7-year old son and I'm always getting great deals on things for him here. So, we're just a family of mom, daughter, grandchild .... and friend.
Over the years, we've all accumulated a lot of "extra" stuff in our households. From clothing, to electronics, to children’s products, we have so many items that are in great shape, but that we don't use any longer! What a shame to have all that lovely stuff just sitting around! Well, we decided to put our nicest items on ebay, for sale, so that we can find homes for our unused items. You know how it is when you have a child or a grandson - often, babies only wear an outfit once or only play with something a few weeks at a time. Also, when you've inherited a lot of stuff, you'd love to keep it all but unless you intend to open a museum, keeping it all just isn't practical. We would love to find the best homes for all of our items!
Our Commitment to You
We know you have many options. When you choose to bid on our auctions, we appreciate that. When you win or purchase items from our store, we value you as a customer and greatly appreciate your business and the trust you have in us. We are committed to customer service and satisfaction! We want you to be happy. If you are not for any reason, please contact us through Ebay's message system or at mzeares@msn.com immediately. We will work with you to arrive at a solution. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILTER IN YOUR EMAIL. WE SEND SHIPPING CONFIRMATION EMAILS FOR EVERY ORDER AND OFTEN SEND PERSONALIZED EMAILS TO OUR CUSTOMERS. EBAY EMAILS CAN LAND IN YOUR SPAM FOLDER AND YOU MIGHT MISS OUR MESSAGE!
Our Shipping Policy
We charge actual postage charges.
Your item will be packaged appropriately and professionally. When we ship fragile items, we pay the insurance fee ourselves. We always use delivery confirmation on all of our shipments and can provide the tracking number to you if you request it. We like to ship USPS Priority unless you specifically request a different method. For very small items or media, we may offer you alternatives in the calculator. Since we stand behind our delivery, you probably do not need to add insurance on non-breakable items. You may include it in what you pay us if you feel strongly about it, though. For large or heavy items, we have started shipping FedEx Home Delivery because it is faster and the insurance is included. We can usually ship the next business day after we receive payment via Paypal.
How to Pay Us
We accept only Paypal and really appreciate it when our customers use the "Instant Payment" method. When you do, we can ship your purchase much faster. If you use Paypal's e-check feature, that's fine but it takes about 4-5 days to clear and we can not ship until Paypal notifies us that your e-check has cleared. If you do not have a Paypal account, you can get one very easily.
We will always combine shipping for multiple auctions; however, to get an accurate total, please either wait until we send a combined invoice or email us for a total. If you try to have ebay combine it for you, they will usually come up with some ridiculous total for shipping. Their calculator just doesn't work that well for combined shipping unless we do it through the invoice feature. So don't get upset or panic ... just email us. We'll save you money any way we can. After all, we buy also and understand your concerns.
We appreciate it when our customers understand that we are not a business. Your purchases will come from "Zeares Services" and that is the name on our Paypal Business Account but we established the business name only for tax purposes. You know the government has to get their share! We are really just a small family selling things around our homes. We don't purchase things for resale and can not offer the free shipping and other perks that large businesses can.
BOOK CONDITION RATING SYSTEM
Our own condition rating system so we don't have to keep going into all the details for each book listed. We don't have many, if any new books since we both have read a lot to my grandson and he spends a lot of time "reading" his books, too. We use stock photos unless there is something in particular we think you should see - or unless a stock photo is not available.
Excellent - Book is almost like new - you can hardly tell it's been read
Very Good - Obviously been read but no damage at all and not much sign of use
Good (Most of our books) - Obviously been read but no un-repaired damage. Cover may show signs of wear but inside pictures and words are in good shape. There may be a little cosmetic damage to the cover only. We use good quality book glue and strong tape for repairs. Spines may be reinforced with clear tape.
Fair - Some cosmetic damage which has been repaired if possible - book can still be enjoyed since all of the pictures and words are visible. For soft-cover books, cover may have creases or be bent but it's still intact. This category is a matter of degree from the "Good" category - the books look more used, pictures aren't quite as bright, or maybe the amount of repair is more extensive.
Poor - May have missing flaps for a flap book or a very small amount of missing words. We do not list "poor" category books at all unless the quality of the story and the percent of missing elements would make the book worthwhile for a customer. Occasionally, a story may be so appealing or the pictures so charming that we feel someone might still like to have the book - at a small fraction of the original price, of course.
Pricing: We inspect each individual book and try to arrive at a price that is fair to you and allows us to make a little bit. In most cases, we bought the books at retail price. If we bought them used at Half Priced Books, we will pass on the savings to you by lowering our price.
Excellent, Very Good, and Good books are generally priced at 50% - 60% of original price on the book. We may take a further amount off for something in particular.
Fair books are priced at about 33% of original price on the book.
Poor books are priced very low compared to the original price of the book but no lower than about 30 cents because we need to cover our listing fees and the price of the padded envelop to ship the book to you. We don't make anything on "poor" books but are simply passing them on to another child to enjoy rather than throwing them out.

To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.
