Welcome to our little spot on the web! Sometimes some of what we think are the worst things that happen to us turn out to be the best for us. I used to work for AlliedSignal and was making about $16.50 an hour. I was an electronic technician working on digital radar and autopilot systems. That was untill I was laid off. All of a sudden our lifestyle changed. I have 2 boys, Michael who is autistic and Hunter who has a rare spine birth defect called caudal regression. I didn't know what to do. The loss of $700 a week income was enough to set my head spinning. Then I came to get to know my boys. Before I was working 50 + hours a week, and spending another 15 hours on the road to get back and forth. It didn't take long to know that all I was doing before was eating, sleeping and working.
Living another life Now things move a lot slower at our house. There are not a lot of the foo foo things we used to have. The cable dish is gone from the side of the house. The ISP moves a little slower than it used to. But we are a better family for it. I can take the kids on field trips with their schools. We have moved to the country and see the fireflies at night now. And I am more relaxed. My replacement for that $700 a week.... what little I bring in on eBay. We don't live in a big fancy house, but we have learned that is not what makes a family
