Right after I got married (27 years ago) I completed my Avengers collection by going to comic shows and purchasing the back issues that I needed. I carefully read the entire collection about every 5 years or so. Few years back my oldest daughter asked if I would leave these books to her when I died. Nice Kid! As she looked at them she mentioned that some where in tuff shape. So I have been upgrading the collection to VERY FINE/NEAR MINT level and I am always on the lookout for a good deal. I have bought and sold hundreds of Avengers (all grades)over the past four years. CGC books are great for investors, but that's not me. I want my children to be able to read the stories down the road not look at them in plastic.
My experience on EBAY has been enlighting. But as I buy and sell I have learned to ask for closer scans of items especially comic books. It is a practice that helps both parties and causes less returns down the road. I have had over 735 transactions on EBAY and 99% of them have been a pleasure to deal with.
Also I ship comics First Class and Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Proper packaging also helps me avoid any problems. Skimping on packaging can only create damage to an item. Grading comics is very subjective. When you own it you sometimes give it a little higher grade, when you buy, you want a deal and will be tougher grading what you receive. Everybody has their own opinion. Expect a half grade off, give or take and you be fine. A Seller should always reveal any major defect when listing a book. I always try to grade accurately and price my books to sell. Nothing is better than receiving a book and feeling like you got a great deal on it!
I also started to sell some basketball, baseball and cards.
Good Luck and thanks for reading this short Bio.
