Blue Feather Beads
July 2: I am taking a few weeks off to go camping and take care of family stuff like grandkids.
It has been a while since I actively sold on eBay. Some of you may remember me as selling under the name MoonDragon Designs. Since then I've had some major life changes so I thought I should start back with a new name as well. Why Blue Feather? After scratching my head for months, my blue and gold macaw, Paco, inspired the name. Getting attached to parrots is in and itself is a life changing event and picking up feathers is a daily thing. So Blue Feather just sounded appropriate. The really long blue feathers I used in my logo were generously donated by Paco. Did I mention most of profits go to feed and spoil my parrots??
Besides playing with fire and molten glass, I have returned to Consumnes River College as full-time student working towards a degree in medical information technology. Yep, an old dog learning a new trick! That plus taking care of our birds (a blue and gold macaw and an umbrella cockatoo), keeping up with family and grandkids has kept me very occupied.
I should point out, I am an not a Pro. I work out of my garage. And I work in fits and spurts of inspiration. I am much more of artisan than I am a sales person. I really have trouble giving my beads names and I am on a learning curve for digital photography. But I really enjoy playing with glass and want people to enjoy my creations. I start my bead auction a low price just in hopes someone will put them to good use.

About our beads:All of these lampwork beads are made by me, Scott, in my garage-based glass studio located in Sacramento California. Each bead carefully made by hand and well rounded and balanced (unless purposely designed otherwise). After it's creation, each bead is immediately placed in a pre-heated kiln and then annealed over night for maximum strength and durability. After annealing, I clean each bead hole with a diamond encrusted dremel tool. When packaging and shipping our beads, each set is individually bubble wrapped and boxed (no envelopes here) to ensure they get to you in one piece.
When you see a matched pair of beads in one of my sets, I can assure you they are indeed as identical in size, shape and color as possible. I make every pair on the same mandrel, that is two beads on a single steel rod. I use calipers to ensure same size on each bead during every stage of creation. Well matched bead pairs makes creating well balanced jewelry earrings easy.
Special Requests:If there is something you would like to see or a particular color combination you are looking for, please let us know. If the attempt is successful, I will give you a heads-up before we put it up on auction. I will be happy to attempt almost anything so long as it is not a direct copy of another artist's work. Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to do special orders. I only sell to the general public by way of eBay auctions.
Returns: If you are not satisfied with the beads you purchase from us, please contact us right away. We will happily refund the purchase price upon return of the original set or individual bead.
