About My Store

Think of my store as a huge garage sale! You can find a wide variety of items: used, new, vintage. Garage sales traditionally have used clothing and household items, things the owners never got around to using and a few treasures tucked in here and there just waiting for you to find it! I sell on commission for others and most of my clients are folks just like yourself - too much stuff and not enough $$$ so they are happy to find new homes for their items. Take some time to hunt around in my store. Who knows what you might find!

About Me

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I got started selling on eBay just to get rid of items around our house. Others began asking me to sell for them and the next thing you know I had a business! I am not a powerseller or a big retailer - just a mom looking for ways to bring some extra cash into the house. With 3 bio sons and 2 we adopted my job has been to stay at home and care for my boys. We drive older cars, have older furniture (mostly used!), do all our own household repairs and remodeling, rarely EVER go on a vacation and every penny stretches out to the limit. But I have some of the most wonderful, amazing boys in the world and we laugh a lot, sing a lot, joke a lot and love a lot around here.

We live in Minnesota out in the country near the Twin Cities. We are big animal lovers - to read about the latest addition to our family read Ted's story below.

Currently my inventory includes a number of very nice items which were removed from the shelves of the church I attend. The gift shop was revamped and I was asked to sell the removed items on eBay. I am very happy to do this and have already sold quite a lot. However, many more nice items are available so please check it out. Wedding and anniversary products, baby gifts, and items great for gift-giving.

THE GANG

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is a picture of my four boys - silly bunch, aren't they? LOL I also have an "adopted" daughter who lives in Canada with her family. Well, she isn't REALLY officially a family members but, in a perfect world where we all had buckets of money, it would be official. These young men are awesome: smart, polite, loving and just all around fantastic. Can you tell I am a proud mom?

This is our son, Shawn, who passed away at age fourteen. I miss you, love you and never a day goes by that I don't think of you, my freckle-faced boy.

This one is Misty who is my son's new puppy. She is a Samoyed which is my favorite breed. Aren't they adorable puppies?

TED E. BEAR

This is Ted who spent three years in a cage and another at a shelter waiting for a new family. Others came to see him but he was a bit on the unsociable side so there he remained at the shelter. Having adopted a fullgrown St. Bernard at age two from a shelter many years ago, we just had to go see Ted. Sam was the best dog we ever had and he lived with us for ten years.

Ted growled and carried on but we brought him home anyway. He does have heartworm which he is being treated for and there is a chance he might not make it. We don't even want to think about that possibility because we already love him to pieces. He is slowly learning to behave and has decided petting and hearing babytalk is his favorite new activities. His appetite finally picked up and we are hopeful he will make a full recovery. It will take a great deal of time before he trusts people and understands good behavior but he is a smart dog and will eventually learn these things.

EBAY HUMOR

As I said, we like to laugh at our house. A good story I have about eBay happened when I first began selling. I used to take photos on the dining room table and I worked hard to get them to look as great as possible. I was taking a picture of some sheets and they would not lay flat; the wrinkles made the pics look awful. Finally I decided to iron the area I wanted to use for the pic. I asked one of my sons to run down and bring up the iron for me. He did so and then said in a helpful tone, "Want me to wind the cord up really nice?" I looked at him, puzzled, and said, "Why would I want you to do THAT?"

"Well," he answered, "Aren't you going to sell it on eBay?"

Guess they thought I was selling everything in the whole house! LOL

LUNCH WITH MARY

On the news last night one of the segments was about a couple who believe they see the face of the Virgin Mary in a place where a limb was sawed off a tree outside their window. They took a picture of it and the man was drawing the outline of what they saw. Ummm, yeah, right….

Where will this end? Trees and grilled cheese sandwiches and all sorts of things are popping up with people claiming they see Mary in them. I suppose, as long as they receive attention and money, it will continue.

A popular local radio show had a lighthearted discussion about why you would sell such a thing. Here the Virgin Mary chooses to appear to you and you SELL the object in question? They bring up a good point. What purpose would there be in such an appearance? Lourdes or Medjugorje I can buy but a grilled cheese sandwich? If it had been me I would have bitten her nose right off and never noticed a thing. There would have gone my five grand.

Wouldn’t a face on a wall or even etched into a window be more plausible? Something a bit more permanent makes more sense to me. Are we that desperate for a sign from above that we will grasp at these straws without question? Personally, if I were to put my face on anything, I would choose something like a blank canvas, a white porcelain plate or perhaps even a nice white mug. Something that is a bit more tasteful. (Excuse the pun.)

I have no doubt that, in the months ahead, now that the precedent has been set on eBay, we will be seeing Mary, Jesus or various presidents faces appear on such places as toilet paper, turkey and Swiss on whole wheat, used paper plates or a fake fingernail. As long as there is a market for such things and gullible fools willing to pay out good money for them, even as a novelty item, we continue to see them.

I think I will stick to more conventional images and leave the oddities to the rest of the world. However, should you happen to notice your lunch looks like more than just your lunch, give me a call.

I can sell it for you on eBay.

MORE ABOUT ME

I have several websites. Live to Remember is my site for online grief support. I have a site on MSN, also, mainly for those who have lost a child.

Verbal Invasion is my writing website. I have this terrible habit of losing things after I write them so this works great!

Northern Lights Emporium is my site to go along with my eBay store.

All sites are being worked on a little at a time. Visitors are always welcome!

So I think we have established that I spend far too much time online! LOL (don't we all????) Well, almost a year ago I had a very scary thing happen. I had a sudden sharp pain in the back of my head followed by a horrendous bout of nausea. My husband took me to the ER where the pain was diagnosed as a subarchnoid hemorrhage (brain bleed if you aren't any more medically inclined than I am) which was life-threatening. I spent twelve VERY long days in the hospital confined to my bed. I suffered greatly as I did not have a computer connection! Withdrawal symptoms set in quickly. Strong meds were called for. Well, yeah, I am joking but seriously it was pretty awful. I am SO lucky and blessed because I am one of the few who walked away virtually unscathed. I say virtually because I still suffer from extreme fatigue. I can't do a whole lot these days so I spend my time online keeping busy. Thankfully I have a great family to help me out. I am a fortunate lady!

I love to write, I love to read and I do all sorts of crafts. My latest is creating Swarovski crystal bracelets which I will be selling on my NL site shortly. I love to have a veggie garden but that is on hold as last time we tried the deer ate everything but 1 cuke and 2 cherry tomatoes! The joys of country living!

I enjoy cooking and baking (any good recipes you wanna share with me? ;-) I have baked my own bread, made my own pie filling, canned, and done all sorts of housewifey type things. With five boys to feed I had to learn to provide a lot with a little so you can get pretty creative when faced with that task!

So that is me in a nutshell. Hope you enjoy this page and I invite you to look over my store.
