Thank you for checking out the Northstar Treasures Books About Me page. I have been an ebay member since Sunday, Feb 24, 2002 . If you have purchased books from my ebay store or bid on my auctions, I appreciate your business. I hope you will continue to buy from me in the future. I do my best to provide the best customer service.
My Store and Auctions
You will find a variety of books that I am selling at a fixed price. I also have auctions. These are mostly used books. I get my inventory from a variety of sources including local auctions, estate sales, thrift shops, library sales, local used bookstores, and yard sales. They may have previously been in smokers homes.
The grading system I use to judge a book's condition is: Like New, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, and Poor. I try to describe each book's imperfections with as much detail as possible. I also try to supply a Synopsis or Publisher's Note with each book. Sometimes ebay will provide a Synopsis or Publisher's Note, but if ebay doesn't have pre-filled information on a book, I will do my best to provide a good Synopsis or Contents list.
During a transaction, I will send emails to the buyer to let them know the current status of a transaction. After the cleared payment is received, I will send the buyer a 'Payment Received' notification. I will send an 'Item Shipped' notification when the book is mailed. All buyers will receive a packing slip and my business card with their purchase.
Payment, Shipping and Delivery
EBAY'S NEW PAYMENT POLICY: Starting in October 2008 ebay will no longer allow buyers to pay with a check or money order. My listings are being edited to comply with this new policy. Click here to read about this new policy and other changes that ebay is making.
I accept PayPal. If you're a buyer and you do not have a PayPal account you can sign up for an account at PayPal.com.
I ship internationally. If you purchase more than one book please wait for a combined invoice before you send the payment. You can get a bargain on combined shipping for multiple purchases. I offer domestic buyers in the United States the option of Priority, Parcel Post or Media mail. Sometimes a package will be upgraded from Media to First Class if a weight requirement is met. If you chose Media mail, please be advised that the delivery can take up to three weeks. If you need the book delivered sooner than three weeks, please select either Priority or Parcel. International buyers pay for First Class International shipping. If an international package weighs more than four pounds, the shipment will be sent International Priority. An international package can take 5-10 days.
According to ebay's policy, the 'Shipping Time' is the time it takes me to ship the item, not the time it takes USPS to deliver the item. After the payment is received, the item is usually mailed within the next business day. Items are taken to the post office Monday - Friday. I am not responsible for delays in the USPS system. Please keep this in mind when rating your transaction with me and other sellers. Click here to read about the Detailed Sellers Rating policy.
Note to other Sellers: It is against ebay policy to steal another ebay seller's pictures. My buyers can buy my items with the promise that the item that is pictured in the listing is the exact same item they will receive.
Maine Customers
Buyers who live in state of Maine will be charged sales tax.Buyer Requirements
All buyers are required to be registered ebay members. I don't accept bids from members who have received two unpaid strikes in the last month. I expect to receive the payment within two weeks after the sale is made. I will do everything I can to assist buyers if they are having technical difficulties with paypal. If a buyer doesn't pay or contact me, I will have to relist the item.
I don't do outside-of-ebay transactions for any of my ebay listings. I have had people contact me offering to buy and sell books outside of ebay. These offers are always ignored.
Return Policy
Everything that I list on ebay has a return policy. If you have purchased a book and would like to return it for a refund, please contact me and give me the book's title or item number. I will give the refund through paypal.
