Just in case you wonder, I've used eBay to locate some rare items that I'm interested in acquiring. What sort of items? Things with nostalgic import to me, so they're pretty eclectic. mainly things involving old-time radio, aviation, film, cryptosystems, and technical gadgets. I have a special interest in old-time radio premiums, particularly those I once had when I was growing up. These include some Tom Mix, Sky King, Lone Ranger, and Captain Midnight items.  Also, since I am a child survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack, I occasionally collect nostalgic items about Pearl Harbor in the early 1940s, including memorabilia of Fort Kamehameha (where we lived), Hickam Field, etc.

Throughout the years, I've developed an expertise in the Captain Midnight radio show, and am the author of a book on the subject, and have also authored magazine articles and journal papers on its cryptological premiums, the Code-O-Graphs. Where possible, I try to provide information about Captain Midnight and other radio premiums I have specific knowledge about. I've noticed that over time, a lot has been forgotten about these items, and where I can, I share what I remember (or in a few cases researched). In some cases, I've helped identify some of the more obscure radio premiums.  I've also helped debunk the myth of a radio premium "decoder ring."  (The first of these was a premium relating to a TV show, Jonny Quest.)

In addition, I am interested in a few premiums I didn't have when young, primarily: cryptological ones.  Various "decoder" premiums, both radio and television, comprise a separate collection.  Much of the "professional" cryptological equipment that appears from time to time on eBay is above my available finances, but I can dream.  Some stuff, like St. Cyr slides, I can afford and have obtained through eBay.

I am strictly a collector.  I don't trade or sell from my collections.
