Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me!
I live in Beautiful New England now, but grew up in a little town in rural Pennsylvania. Even though my mother never quilted, I can't help but think that I caught the quilting bug somewhere in Pennsylvania. I also find it quite ironic that I now live in Massachusetts - once the Textile Capital of the United States!
I have been a quilter for many years and LOVE fabric. Ebay allows me to supplement my fabric spending habit as well as contribute to the household budget.
I am a mom of two teenage sons and enjoy being with my family. I also enjoy scrapbooking and Altered Art.
The name Oatmealkisses came from my son. When he was little, he couldn't say our last name "O'Neill" very well, so he would says "Oatmeal" instead. It was very cute. Before he would leave for school, I would always say to him, "give me some Oatmeal Kisses!" (I know, I know, it is a little sappy, but you have to admit it is cute!). Anyway, it stuck and the name brings back great memories for this sappy mom.
I enjoy selling all kinds of craft items on eBay. I usually list every week and usually a nice variety of items so keep checking back . . . .you never know what you will find!
One thing that is consistant are my yo-yo sets for sale.
Here is a little bit of information about my yo-yo’s:
-
I usually use 100% cotton fabric to make these. I have experimented with other fabric such as synthetic and blends, but my fabric of choice is cotton. The fabric is always clean and usually from my “stash”. (I am a quilter and have TONS of fabric in my stash.) Occasionally, I will make a batch with another type of fabric, but I will always disclose this in my auction.
- I use high quality thread, usually Gutermann’s thread, and always use two strands. I knot my yo-yo’s three times to make sure they won’t come apart. I always match the thread used to the color of yo-yo I am making.
- After I make a batch of yo-yo’s, I inspect them and will pull out any “rejects” from the batch. I also usually put a few extras in the set I am making just to make sure I didn’t count wrong.
I will be happy to send you a sample of my yo-yo's! Just e-mail me your address and I will get one out to you!
Happy eBaying!
