Hi and Welcome
My name is Julie Allen, if you are reading this page it is probably because you are interested in my fun artworks for babies and kids. I'll try to tell you a bit about myself as well as try to answer some of the most common questions people ask me about my work here.
About Me
I am a married stay at home mum. I have 2 children, an 8 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. I live in the Hawkesbury region of NSW. I enjoy painting (obviously!) and just about anythig else arty/crafty.
Ever since I was a kid I enjoyed art, I was always drawing or painting or doing something messy. A few years ago I was looking at decorating our house and I saw some of the ever popular frangipani paintings in the shops and I thought to myself I can do this and spare paying the huge price tag attached to the painting. So I went home and started painting, I was suprised how well it turned out, and I got a lot of compliments from family and friends. So I painted more just for the fun of it. But not wanting a house full of handpainted frangipani paintings I decided I have to get rid of some of these. So I figured ebay was the easiest option. So I listed a few paintings and to my suprise they sold.
I soon got bored of painting frangipanis, and after redecorating my daughters room I decided she needed something on her walls. This was my first venture into kid's paintings. Shortly after I did some painting for family/friends who were all delighted with their paintings. Then along came my baby son. I painted canvases to match his cot linen and enjoyed this so much I started doing other nursery themes which I have been listing on ebay for over 3 years now.
My Inspiration: The biggest inspiration for my art is my kids, seeing what things they like gives me an idea what other kids would like. I also like to see what the current trends are in children's decor. I get theme ideas from things like bed linen, toys, curtains etc.
Frequently Asked Questions About My Art
Q. Do you do custom work?
A. Yes, I am happy to make paintings to order, in any theme and style you desire. Contact me with your requirements for an obligation free quote. Commisioning an artwork from me is probably much more affordable than you think!
Q. Your listing has a set of paintings but I only want to buy one, will you let me?
A. All paintings sold in a set may be requested for individual sale. Obviously if a set is on auction I can not seperate that specific set, but I would be happy to paint another individual painting and list it for a pre-arranged buy it now price.
Q. Do you have any matching items for your canvas paintings?
A. I do not keep any matching items in stock, but upon request I am able to create many matching pieces of decor including: personalised name paintings, photo frames, mirrors, lamps, light switch covers, book ends, growth charts, storage boxes and just about anything else that is able to be painted on. If you have something in particular in mine please contact me for more infomation.
Q. Can you do paintings to match my childs bed linen?
A. Yes, I specialise in made to match artwork, please contact me if you would like to see past work and/or get an obligation free quote.
Q. Do you do paintings for adults.
A. I have painted many floral/modern/abstract paintings in the past and would happily accept commisions for this type of work. However, I have no plans of listing these sort of paintings on ebay unless previously arranged as my true love of painting lies in children's art.
Q. Do you have a website where I can view more of your work?
A. Yes, please contact me for weblink. **Note, Website currently down for upgrade**
Q. Do you allow pickups?
A. Unfortunately no, I am unable to offer pickups due to a hectic schedule of taking kids to various sports/activities, running other errands and a shiftworking husband.
Q. How are your paintings packed?
A. I take great pride in my paintings and take great pride in packaging them perfectly for my customers so when they get to you they are as good as when they left. For smaller artworks I individually plastic wrap them and package them into a sturdy thick corrugated cardboard box filled with foam beads. Larger artworks are individually plastic wrapped then wrapped with sturdy thick corrugated cardboard, then bubble wrapped and finally wrapped in cardboard again
Q. Do you do paintings in _______ theme?
A. I get this question all the time. I have painted literally hundreds of different designs and sent them to happy customers around the world. I have done most popular themed artworks in teh past and in many cases have several designs eg. I have probably 30 different fairy designs. If you can;t find something that is perfect for your child I am sure I can create something custom that will be ideal. Just email me your ideas and together we can create the perfect piece of art for you.
If there is anything I have not covered in here or you would like more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks For Visting! Julie
