Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to check out my page! I'm Steven, part time writer and full-time E-Bayer! The rest of the time (if there is any) I prowl about looking for great esoterica to bring to you. Please take a moment to check out the other items (obviously you have looked at one, to have gotten here!) I have for sale. You will NOT find my items subscribed to any service that will cause a pop-up, pop-under, scroll bar or any of that other garbage that gets in the way and slows everything down. I want you to ENJOY looking at my auctions, and to have the confidence that you can click on a cross-over listing without having to get an offer from Netflix or "Smilin' Bob!" No Auctiva BS either. I think you're smart enough to use the "View Seller's Other Items" button if you're interested.
My Policies
I try to be a completely square dealer, and brutally honest about condition (check my feedbacks!) so there are no hidden surprises. This may cost me bids, but in the long run the satisfaction of my customers is of the utmost importance to me. I take the time to critically analyze the condition of the books I sell, and try to research anything else that could be important for you to know about them. As far as toys, cards and CCG's - I go into detail about damage, missing parts, and what exactly is included. I *KNOW* this costs me bids but. on these items in particular, I think we have almost ALL been burned once or more when buying a collection here and there. If something isn't clear in my auction PLEASE email me! I would rather not get your bid than have you be disappointed!I buy collections of FANTASY ART non-sports cards (singles, packs and PREFERABLY boxes). If you have any of these you want to get rid of, feel free to contact me.
A note about shipping and handling costs
In light of eBay's new feedback system, I feel it is important that I break this down for those who seem to think shipping cost means the amount you pay the post office. I do NOT make ANY money on shipping, if anything I lose money overall. It irks me when a seller justifies a high shipping charge by saying that is the only way to make money on eBay any more, and I DO call them to task on it. I encourage you to report sellers that charge you a ton of money for shipping, then spend $2.50 to violate Federal Law and ship your cards to you via Media Mail. Report them to both eBay and the US Postal Service. They are doing a dis-service to both you and the eBay community in general.
That said, sending your items costs me money, and in order to stay in business, I have to pass operational costs on to you, as described below. Shipping is NEVER by Media Mail unless an item qualifies for it -- I will not risk a huge fine to save the buyer a couple of dollars. The up side of this is, for that extra couple of dollars, you're looking at having your package 2-5 days after paying instead of the 3-5 WEEKS that Media Mail could take. Handling includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
***Tape ($1-$3/roll)
***Card cases (50 cents each)
***Packaging supplies (bubble wrap, $30 for 100 sheets, popcorn is often but not always free to me, newspapers and shredded paper obviously costs me nothing)
***Gasoline for my car (roughly $3.00 per trip to the PO, and I ship every day even if it is only one package)
***Auto wear and tear (never really figured this one out, but my car does use oil, and tires and in the winter it uses antifreeze and de-icing agents)
Since I am selling mostly only cards right now, here's the breakdown:
One set costs me $4.80 to send. I charge you $5.00, losing money on my overall shipping costs. You pay $2.00 for the second set. This is where I might break even, because shipping will be $4.80-$5.60, the card cases will be a buck, and the change goes to the rest of the above. In three sets I might start losing money again, since the postage alone ranges from $6.80-$8.90, and I charge $8.00. Postage in the US will never be over $9.80, so anything I charge you over that rate covers the 50 cents each cases, and the rest of the above. NO, it isn't exact shipping. But most sellers charge even more than I do, and give you NO explanation whatsoever.
If you're wondering why I don't use eBay's combined shipping calculator, its because they don't let me use a graduated scale, since the 2nd set is $2.00, third to sixth is $1.00 each, and after that it is 50 cents a set to cover my cost on the plastic cases.
So. all this said, if you still want the amount you pay in shipping to match the amount printed on the postal label, please bid elsewhere. If you want the quality, service and high standards of a card seller with a feedback rating of 100% who has been in the business for 17 years and can accept that there is more to shipping costs than postage, I think you will find that my service is second to none.
