**This Page is about what I do, what I collect and what hobbies I have. Please email me if we have something in common or if you have a question. *I pride myself on being an honest seller AND buyer at eBay! I do have two negatives due to 2 sellers who didn't want to play fair. {Both sellers are NRU, big surprise...lol} This last time I put up about 130 items and I got 3 NPB. That's the most I ever had. I have had to change my selling terms over the last couple years just because of unexpected rule changers...lol Haven't we all? But all in all I work as hard as I can to get the money to the seller and the package to the buyer ASAP and I must admit I am faster than most! ;- ) I don't sell all the time but maybe a couple three times a year and then I put it all up at once. I have to admire those who sell all the time. THIS is hard work...trying to please everyone is JUST impossible! I think every buyer should sell at least 50 items just to get a taste of the reality each seller faces every day! So if you are a buyer, be patient with those who have good feedback....don't bid on those with lots of bad feedback as more than likely you will get taken! :- ( If you are a buyer, keep in contact with your seller. Nothing wrong with communication! **REMEMBER to have lots of fun and don't go TOO in debt!;- ) My GREAT eBay Find... by pookababe2u I had a tin dollhouse when I was a kid but somehow it got away from me over the years. Since then I have bought several from eBay and quite a bit of furniture too. It has been most fun finding such great items that are still around. One lady sold me the BIG Marx *Marxie Mansion* she had from when she was a young girl. I would have never parted with it but was sure glad she did. I told her it went to a good home and would be taken very good care of. That is the one that I wanted from the very beginning at searching for Tin Houses. After getting that one, I have become very picky! I have to admit that I have 8 now anyway, and that is enough for me. MY PASSION IS VINTAGE MUSIC BOXES...it has become a real learning experience. Check here for the MOST EXQUISITE Music Boxes on Earth. REUGE I not only collect them but try to research them as much as I can. I have several books on the subject now which help me to buy wisely. I love the ones with Ballerinas that twirl from the 30's to the 50's. Many of the ones that I get are overwound, need of some TLC or need major repairs. I fix them all. Some I have restored to be the beautiful creations they used to be. Even when I have one that the ballerina's arm has broken off, I create a new one with polymer clay. I can't see throwing anything out that can be fixed. If some of the sellers could see what I did with what they thought was junk, they would want them back! LOL How someone can part with them is beyond me but again, I am glad they do. HowSimply Romanticthey all are! I seem to bid against the same people when searching for Music Boxes. I feel bad when I snipe one...well, for a little while anyway. hehe I had to get to that point because others were sniping them from ME. So if you are one that I snipe from...I am sorry, nothing personal at all. Collecting these beautiful boxes has become more than just a collection. I come home from work and play several of them each day. I am cutting down on buying like I used to and have taken to selling some of them. I really like the Ballerinas on Music Boxes the most and that is what I am going to try and stick with. I branch out WAY too much! So those Powder Boxes have been finding new homes. *Favorite TV Shows are Drew Carey, Everybody Loves Raymond, King Of Queens,& all the Forensic shows, and the TV Sitcoms of the 60's. *My Favorite Movies are Silence of the Lamb, The Bridges of Madison County, Harvey, The Good Earth {Pearl Buck book}, Arsenic and Old Lace, Red Skelton Movies, Falling in Love,{with Cutie Robert DeNiro and the Beautiful and Talented Meryl Streep, and many more. *I only like to read Non-Fiction books when I have the time. *I love to sew when I am in the mood. *I LOVE photography. I have some great pics I have taken over the years that mean a great deal to me. Sunsets are awesome! *I love to spend hours checking out all the great stuff @ eBay...it is more entertaining than television!! |
*First of all, I LOVE the movie, HARVEY with Jimmy Stewart. That is where I first heard the name POOKA. HARVEY was an Invisible 6 Foot Rabbit. He WAS a *POOKA*. Harvey was the Invisible Companion of eccentric Elwood P. Dobbs (Jimmy). HARVEY was mischievous and although everyone thought that Mr. Dobbs was NUTS, you could almost believe that HARVEY was for real. ~*~The Definition of a POOKA is... "The pranksters of the changeling community, *POOKAS* share an affinity with animals and a love of tricks and practical jokes. *Clever and deceptive in their speech, these roguish changelings (look it up if you must) never tell the complete truth. *POOKAS* are stereotypically happy-go-lucky, lying, animalistic pranksters. *POOKAS* are also rumored to be the clowns of the changeling society, happy on the outside and crying on the inside. *Not only are *POOKAS* animals, but they are also social animals. *POOKAS* love to talk, partially because whenever they talk they spread chaos in their wake, and partially because whomever they talk to will trust them quite well within a very short time. Just a little bit about me... *I am a Mom of 4 children who now live on their own and a Grandma of 2. *I collect and make Dollhouses,Miniatures, COWS, COWS, COWS, Aladdin's Lamps, Gund Bears, Hallmark Nostalgic Houses, (Thanks to the great sellers at eBay I have the complete set), MAD Magazine, and no, you are never too old for parodies and laughter, Music Boxes with Ballerinas, Tin Litho Dollhouses and Furniture,Vintage Rose Items for my Parlor, Advertising Tins and anything else that I take a liking too. I decorate cakes although that has taken a back seat since the Internet along with most everything else. I live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. We moved here from North Judson, Indiana in 1979. I love decorating the house...from painting to wallpapering to sewing. I like building and crafting from wood. I love to learn new things but don't like doing the same thing twice and am ready to go on and learn something new! *I collect lots of things and that is what brought me to eBay. After I did a lot of buying I thought, what the heck, I should start selling some of the things I have collected over the years that I didn't want anymore. Funny thing about collecting...we collect, get tired of some things and pass them around to others in one way or another. *It sure is fun to sell here and I have met some very nice people. *~*I also collect Red Skelton memorabilia. He was a Great Comedian. <:0) **Vincennes University of Vincennes, Indiana is finished in building a Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. Below is the Mural Downtown Vincennes... by pookababe2u They are now raising money to restore the OUTSTANDING Old Theater, the Pantheon, downtown. I have seen it and it's going to be beautiful. They also will be building a Red Skelton Museum. If you are a fan of Red, email me and I will be glad to tell you more about it all. I have personally donated items for the Museum and one day all of my Collection will go to the Museum for everyone to enjoy till the end of time.
