We live in beautiful So. Illinois and raise wild
game birds and other exotic birds. Raising Mallard ducks,
Call ducks, Indian runners(ducks) and Peking ducks.
We also have various breeds of Pheasant - Golden, Silver and our main bird, Ringnecks.
At present we are trying to update our facilities to accomidate
Bobwhite Quail. This is a new venture for us to raise in quanity
(we have raised a few for release on the farm)
and hope that this adventure is as good as our pheasants.
We also have Breeding Emu's that are one of the main birds
that the children love to see. We sponsor field trips for the younger children at our
local school, and they are really facinated with the raising of birds and all that is involved.
We are proud Grandparents of 4 beautiful granddaughters, and love life on the farm.
One of our passions is collecting Fireking dishes and have
collected from all parts of the country, from Arizona to Kentucky.
We have accumulated quite a collection, but as in any collection,
there are always those ones that you cannot find to complete a set.
Thats why eBay.
It has been a very enjoyable experence for us. All of the Sellers that we
have encountered thus far have been real nice and we hope to encounter many more.
Also another line that we collect is vintage Kitchen utinsels.
Some of these are easy to find and some not.
Thus we turn to eBay again.
![]() | I am very Honored to have been selected to be one of eBay's "Voice of the community" Program known by most as Voices. In March 2004 Me and 9 others went to San Jose home of eBay. It was very interesting and a learning experence, to see the 'behind the scenes' look at how eBay is run. I hope with my ongoing participation, that eBay and the community is a better place to trade. |
As you can see from the pictures below we love fourwheeling.
And do this as much as possible (even in the winter time). Even the girls
ride, though not as hard as us, and have just
as much fun. On our farm we have one set of woods that have become
the local dirt track and many friends enjoy raceing and just playing on the hills.
Other things that we enjoy doing as a family is Mud bogging.
We currently have a 79 Ford Bronco and a 79 Ford F-250 (both are not stock)
with lift kits and oversized tires and modified engines.
This is fun and the grandkids enjoy the mud also.
We attend our local church and that has priority over all.
We feel that we are really blessed in all.

And here is the host... Me!

I do hope that you visit us again.
Have a fantastic day.
I am writing in response to your request for additional information. In Block No. 3 of the accident reporting form, I put rying to do the job aloneas the Cause of my accident. You said in your letter that I should explain more fully, and I trust that the following details will be sufficient: I am a bricklayer by trade. On the date of the accident, I was working alone on The roof of a new six-story building. When I completed my work, I discovered That I had about 500 lbs of bricks left over. Rather than carry the bricks down by Hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley, which fortunately was Attached to the side of the building at the sixth floor. Securing the rope at ground level, I went back up to the roof, swung the barrel out, And loaded the brick into it. Then I went back to the ground and untied the rope, Holding it tightly to ensure a slow descent of the 500 lbs of brick. You will note in Block No. 11 of the accident report form that I weigh 135 lbs. Due to my surprise of being jerked off the ground so suddenly, I lost my Presence of mind and forgot to let go of the rope. Needless to say, I proceeded at A rather rapid rate up the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming down. This explains the Fractured skull and broken collarbone. Slowing only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the Fingers of my right hand were two knuckles deep into the pulley. Fortunately, by this time I had regained my presence of mind and was able to Hold tightly to the rope in spite of my pain. At approximately the same time, however, the barrel of bricks hit the ground And the bottom fell of the barrel. Devoid of the weight of the bricks, the Barrel now weighs approximately 50 lbs. I refer you again to my weight in Block No. 11. As you might imagine, I began a Rapid decent down the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for The two fractured ankles and the lacerations of my legs and lower body. The encounter with the barrel slowed me enough to lessen my injuries when I fell onto the pile of bricks and, fortunately, only three vertebrae were cracked. I am sorry to report, however, that as I lay there on the bricks, in pain, unable to stand, and watching the empty barrel six stories above me. I again lost my Presence of mind and I let go of the rope. The empty barrel weighed more Than the rope so it came back down on me and broke both my legs. I hope I have furnished the information you require as to how the accident Occurred. |
