Falcao, my schoolmaster and I at a show
|
Although I have been connected to horses all my life, it was at the age of 23 that I owned my very first one. This as a present from my life Partner, Robert. Robert is a Model Train enthusiast and he has introduced me to the fun of doing the landscapes for his layouts. He does the trains and the people.
Robert models the "N" scale trains. I love the scale because you don't need a huge room to see the whole layout, but building layouts is a challenge for the same reason. But it's something we enjoy together. |

One of my recent show quilts - Whiling Dervish, which is for sale
|
Quilts and horses, two of my other passions are as diametrically apposed as things could be. One clean and pretty, one done in the dirt. But since I ride in the sport of dressage, it is the color and precision of quilting that keeps me going. Dressage demands the same precision.
I quilt for the public, and work from commissions for the most part. I specialize in T-shirt quilts and Memorial or Memory quilts. But this is not even the tip of the iceberg. I dye my own fabrics and teach, too.
I have had the fortune of having a life partner that is also my best friend and mentor. I have been blessed with being able to do the things that I love. To give back for all these blessings, I also do a lot of volunteer work.
