Twenty-five years ago I moved to Ames, Iowa and met my best friend, Lynn, at Ames Community Theater.  At the time I was a house wife and mother of three young children and somewhat discouraged that my once artisitic personality had dissolved into making dinner, doing laundry and staring at the television.  After getting involved with the theater, I found that I had a real interest in costumes, sewing and creating items such as masks and stage props.  Lynn taught me what she knew about the various time periods.  We spent hours looking at the beautiful gowns, suits and hats that had been donated to the theater over the years.  Whenever there was  sale, we were there to buy things we loved...what for, we weren't sure.  In 1994, we opened our own shop and later I started selling some of our really beautiful items in eBay.  I have a degree in art. a minor in English and I'm an oil painter I'm also obsessed with making felt stockings and ornaments, which started over thirty years ago!  I hope to get some of my paintings up for sale on eBay in the next year, inlcuding some tiny paintings for doll house lovers...another one of my passions!.
