WELCOME TURKEY ENTHUSIASTS

 Hello, my name is Ray Tompkins. I make custom box calls and custom slate and glass calls. I am from the deep south in Osceola territory.

THE ART OF CALL MAKING

 I make calls from various types of wood. I make calls looking for good tone first then work on the looks. I started making turkey calls in 1996. Since then I have found out there are about as many call makers as there are collectors and hunters. I have won two third place awards at national NWTF conventions in the decorative box call competition. The first was my undertaker model and the second was the fiddle call for Nashville in 2000. I also won a third place award in the working box competition in 99. mahogany makes one of the best sounding calls in my opinion. I also work with red cedar, walnut, mahogany, wild cherry and butternut. I make several models of calls. Below are some of the collectable and hunting models. I started making slate and glass calls about two years ago. I make two different types a working slate or glass and a fancy one. The fancy ones have more elaborate carvings and inlays on them. The pots are basically the same on the inside. these are some of the best sounding calls made. All are guaranteed for looks and sound.
