I have been an active Seller for the past 9 years. I am a Certified Education Specialist, Trained by eBay. I train individuals and small or large businesses how to have a successful business on eBay.
For the last six years I have been an eBay Administrator for four large corporations and 1 small business.
eBay has been a big part of my life since 1998
My journey started as a hobby. I was a stay at home mom of three. Though I was extremely busy, I wanted to do something more.
So I started selling on eBay.
The very first item I sold on eBay was some vintage records, "Busy Bee" records. I bought about 10 of them for $6.00 dollars at a garage sale. I sold them for $60.00 with a 100% mark up! From that day on I was hooked, I knew this was going to be fun!
I have sold everything literally! From A-Z.
One very good lesson, I have learned, is you need to know what your selling and how much it is worth.
How did I learn this? One day on eBay lane.
I was selling a piece of vintage sheet music that I bought for .50 cents, it was down to the last 1 minute. Auction was at $35.00 dollars I was watching my auction close out. It got down to the last 30 seconds. I was sitting there refreshing the screen and to my huge surprise, the auction that was at $35.00 jumped to over $400.00 I could not believe my eyes. I turned off my computer thinking, there must be a mistake. I logged back into eBay and it was right, there had been two bidders. One had a proxy bid and the other happen to bid over the proxy bid and boom he won! It was over $400.00 and the winner has requested the total price. Boy was I shocked! I had to go lay down and rest, after that!
The thought that I had no idea someone would want to buy that perticular sheet music at that price, really got me thinking. I asked that buyer later why it was worth so much and he said it was a rare Rag piece,very limited amount published.
I could tell you more stories.... I have many of them. But what it boils down too, is that I am having a blast!
