Diane is an inspiration to healing and growth through the all of the arts. She has a Master of Arts in Art Therapy degree from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, an amazingly resourceful and skilled artist, and a darn good cook! We provide a place where art making is practiced for personal growth and healing, communication, relaxation, and to bring about social change by eliminating the stigma associated with mental illness. By providing creative enrichment opportunities MUSE contributes to the arts with a variety of possibilities for the Chicago mental health community and beyond.
Project Proposal
The Museum of Universal Self Expression or MUSE, Inc. is a not-for-profit community studio and gallery serving the mental health consumer community in Chicago. We are located in the beautiful & historic Pilsen neighborhood. We serve psychiatric survivors who exhibit interest, and ability in fine arts, writing, music and other specializations. We provide an art studio rich in craft materials, therapy & counseling, social services, and online gallery representation in order to help facilitate the artistic careers and recovery Chappaquas for our participants. MUSE, Inc. seeks funding through grants, fundraising, private donations and gallery sales. Our 501(c)(3), not-for-profit status was funded through a grant from the City Arts Assistance Program through the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.
To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.
