Food donated to a local Charity, Thanks All!!

            Back in 2003 when my father passed away, I decided on my birthday, rather than receiving, cards and gifts from friends, I would instead have a food drive, in honor of my dad, this will be the fifth year, so each year I fund all the decor and prizes that I give away. I put together raffles and games, and my friends donate food. The response has been wonderful, and I am grateful for the generosity of those who care. And the charities are grateful for all given. The best gift I could ever get is the feeling of helping others and honoring my fathers memory. He was a great man, and has taught others to have compassion, even after his passing.

          Ebay is the way I fund my food drives, as I sell, I save 25% and set it aside so I can buy give-aways, decor and cake. The room is donated by a business where I am a regular customer, and my friends help by having dinner the night of the party.  In a sense it is a loyalty exchange. We all help each other, it seems so simple. Some of my friends have taken on the idea as well, imagine that, how easy it is to encourage good things........it just gets bigger each year.

          I also donate newspaper and towels for my local pet hospital/rescue. Sick pets need a good security towel to sleep on, I purchase those at thrift and garage sales, and give from my own closet too.

         Thanks to all that have purchased items, you are just as appreciated, cause you help me make it happen!!!

Update: as of Nov. 1, 2007 the Charity Fund has $51.00 towards this charity.

Update we had our annual food drive/party and it was a complete success, just under 300 items donated, it will go to the Salvation Army Senior Food Pantry.

We delivered the food on Tuesday, 15th of April 2008. It was a lot of fun this year, we had advertisers and gift sponsors, so it added to the swag bags. And the delivery of the food could not have been better timing, as it was needed. I absolutely love doing this and would love to continue having an annual food drive, with your continued support and purchases.
