Hello everyone! Thanks for taking timeout to look at our profile. We are avid geode collectors who love the mystery of geodes. We do know of many great spots that have many unusual minerals and top quality quartz crystals.
This eBay website is dedicated to learn about Keokuk geodes in the Mid-Western states of Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. It is specially designed to relate to students and teachers in a professional manner from the help of a Geologist. Please check back often as we will be listing new geodes un-opened and opened.
Some collectors can tell by the outer shell where approximately the geodes came from. This comes from years of experience from hunting, digging, and a lot of physical labor. A 5 gallon bucket of geodes normally weighs around 50 lbs. After a day of swing a rock pick, digging, and hiking; carrying out your bucket of geodes is not easy. Talk about work! By the end of the day you’re ready to relax. We are always glad to here from collectors; to hear and see pictures of their finds along with any stories.

Many of us have a lot of first hand knowledge about geodes from college, collecting, to the books we have read. We are still learning and always will be, no one can know everything. We all have different opinions of what minerals are inside; as many of the minerals are extremely closely related and without an x-ray machine sometimes we will never know for sure. We just give it our best shot.
Geodes are very exciting and mysterious. That is what got us hooked. We would rather spend our time outside looking for rocks than trapped indoors at the computer or watching TV.
Children absolutely love geodes too. Geodes remind me of the Ugly Ducking Story, ugly on the outside but beautiful on the inside. Like the old saying “Don’t judge a book by it cover”. Both children and adults are amazed at what crystals are found inside. They all are unique like us.
