Me at my Best!

Growing up in the beautiful state of Michigan, spending summers in the Cadillac area on Saphire Lake with my siblings, and nature surrounding me everywhere I went; I find making Gemstone Jewelry simply a continuation of the very best years of my life. 

Each one of us finds a way to recreate those happy times we experienced in our childhood,  and I found that designing gemstone jewelry allows me to experience, all over again, the joys and natural curiosity I had as a child only replacing it with the texture, color and natural beauty of gemstones such as Agates, Yellow Calcite & various Jasper's, Unakite, Rhodonite, Sodalite, Green Adventurine, Moss Agate, Rhyolite, Jadeite and Moonstone, Howlite, Rose Quartz, Fluorite & Argonite.  These are all natural colors of the outdoors.

In August of this year, I began adding a variety of Firepolish glass beads and small 6x9 tear drops for bracelets.  The addition has given me a wider base of new customer's, plus I love the variety of two-tone colors availble.

My Husband & I live in the country on a beautiful 80 acre parcel in the western part of Michigan.  We grow corn, soy bean and have a Blue Spruce Tree farm that keeps us pretty busy.  At Christmas time we sell our tree's to local folks who love to come and cut their own tree with their children. 

I am a stay at home Woman, who loves to can and freeze pretty much anything that is available.  One of my passions is making Blackberry, Elderberry and Wild Grape Jelly.  Anyone who visits our farm will leave with one of the above jellies.  I also love making jewerly in my own little shop that was built for me to do all my own designing in.  I use to upholster furniture, but it became physically to hard to continue. 

The farm we own has been lived in by 5 generations of women in my family.  Each woman was an excellent cook, baker and very creative with whatever they were doing at the time.  Of the five generations, which included a Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother & my daughter, only my daughter Jacqueline and myself, are still living.   

Living so far away from my daughter, curtails our shopping expiditions to once or twice a year.   When we do get together, we shop for 3-4 days at a time.  My last visit with her in April allowed us to visit Studio Baboo in Charlottesville, Virginia .   She signed us up for a class, in which we made two lovely bracelets in two hours.  This particular design will be added to my list to display on E-Bay.  I am heading to Virginia in November of 2007 to visit her and also take another class at Studio Baboo to add something new to my designs.
