General Approach: to our computer auction business is that we attempt to provide sales of antique, old collectible items, all sorts of interesting Warez based on honest description and fair dealings with our customers. Simple as that!
Our Descriptions: We strive for accuracy and completeness in our descriptions. We provide high quality digital images to supplement the written description. We describe all damage, repair or unusual conditions we find during a careful inspection of each item. Our track record in this regard we believe is admirable - we have had only a few returns in about 6,000 auctions. We gladly take back misdescribed items and provide a refund - see details of our return policy below. If you have questions about an item's description, please email us as early before the auction ends as possible.
Bidding in Our Auction: Please bid as early as possible to avoid missing the auction end due to a problem with your internet service provider or eBay itself. We suggest you simply enter once the very highest amount you are willing to go for an item. If you would be willing to pay one bid higher, you still have not entered your very greatest amount and that could lead to disappointment and lost opportunity. Remember, it is not the last bidder who prevails, but simply the highest bidder - so enter your highest bid well before the end of the bidding period.
The proxy bidding system built into eBay allows you to bid again on an item without bidding against yourself. If you have second thoughts and want to increase your maximum bid, do so with confidence that you will not be bidding against yourself. An increased bid just replaces the maximum proxy amount stored in the eBay computer, not your actual bid.
Please bid only if you intend to honor your bid. We reserve the right to cancel bids from those with negative feedback, hidden feedback, or if we have had problems in doing business with you previously. If such bids are entered "last minute", they also may not be honored.
Communications: We encourage good communications. Please ask any questions about the item or the terms and conditions before the auction closes.
After an auction closes, the successful high bidder will receive an eBay form invoice or, if there are special circumstances such as the purchase of multiple items, an email from us with billing information. Please review it and provide confirmation of its receipt by providing your name and address and shipping details as requested in our email.
Due to the large number of items we handle and our prompt shipping, we generally do not acknowledge receipt of payment , but we acknowledge mailing of your item.
After receipt of an item, let us know you are pleased or if there is a problem to resolve.
Provide feedback to the eBay system after our transaction.
Payment: Payment is accepted by PayPal, Money Order, Cashier's Check, or your good personal check, in U.S. funds only. Those desiring to pay by credit card may use on-line payment services such as "PayPal.com" (U.S. bidders and most international bidders). We ship very promptly after receiving payment, usually the same or next day. Checks may be held to clear, however, if your feedback is extensive and excellent it is unlikely that will be necessary.
Packaging your item:. Please look over our feedback and see how often "great packaging" is mentioned. I have many years experience (20) to be exact in packaging boxes in my past jobs.
Shipping Companies: We use the United States Postal Service (USPS) unless otherwise agreed upon. USPS has an excellent track record with us, usually the lowest rates, and delivers right to your door or post office box. We find United Parcel Service, Fedex, and other private services more costly, more difficult to access at our end, and no more reliable than USPS.
We offer the use of the full range of USPS services, including Express Mail, Priority Mail, First Class, and Standard Mail. We work with you to choose the service that provides the best combination of cost, delivery time and insurance to meet your desires.
Pickup of items in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County PA, is possible with advance payment of the item's bid price. With acceptance of the advance payment, arrangements will be made to pickup the item at MY RESIDENCE during its agreed upon. Sorry, but we are generally not able to deliver locally. Usually, costs of mail delivery are far less than transportation costs and the cost of time
Shipping Costs: Shipping cost is the sum of postage and packaging costs, not just the cost of postage. It is our policy to try to disclose the cost of postage and packaging at the beginning of the auction, so that the bidder knows what is to be expected in this regard. We often place the cost of shipping directly in our description, fixing the amount so there is no unpleasant surprise after the auction.
We use many materials in packaging including tissue paper, plastic zip-lock bags, bubble wrap, peanuts, tapes (small scotch tape and larger packaging tapes), tape dispensers, labels, marking pens, envelopes and boxes. Unfortunately, all these items are not free. Rather than try to handle the considerable task of accounting for the direct cost of each of these items in a particular package.
For unusual or bulky items, we are willing to work with you to handle special concerns or needs.
International shipment is no problem, with the cost determined after we have your address and information on how soon you would like the item to arrive. Most shipments have been at the Airmail rate which is low in cost and offers delivery in one week or sooner. We are experienced at using Global Priority Mail for speed.
If you need an estimate of shipping costs before an auction closes, email us with your location, zip code if in U.S. and any other details on how you want to have the item delivered.
In all cases, we ship only after payment is received. No exceptions to that rule.
Postal Insurance: We encourage the purchase of postal insurance for two reasons:
(1) To provide compensation in the case of loss or damage. Despite its excellent service, USPS does incur incidents of loss or damage.
(2) To provide documentation that your package entered the mail system. We had a case where an item was lost in the mails and it had not been insured. There was doubt, unjustified, on the part of the buyer as to whether or not we had mailed the item. Lots of effort went into filing postal forms to search for the item, all to no avail. Insurance would have erased all doubt about the package being mailed and compensation would have been provided, quickly resolving the matter.
If a buyer does not want postal insurance, we are willing to mail items in that manner on the condition that is recognized there will be no recourse in the case of a lost or damaged item.
International Shipment:We regularly ship items internationally. We are familiar with methods to keep packages as light as possible while offering the item adequate protection to withstand the rigors of a long trip. We fill out customs forms honestly and ask that buyers not make requests to do otherwise. After an auction ends, we try to identify your location from email addresses or other information and immediately determine the shipping costs. This often requires the immediate packaging of the item and an exact weighing so that we can determine the actual postage. A small fee is added to account for the cost of packaging materials. Payment may be sent by PayPal only. Cash is not accepted since it can and does get lost in the mails and too often results in troubled transactions. Stamps are not accepted. We have had very few difficulties in the many transactions and welcome the bidding of international buyers.
Feedback: We are always pleased to provide positive feedback for you in the eBay system. If there is a problem, we want to hear about it and resolve the matter with you.
Returns/Refunds: We accept returns for any reasonable cause. A returned item must be in the same condition as when received. If an item is not as described, we will accept its return and provide a full refund of its purchase price. If an item is found to be as described, a refund will be made of the purchase price minus eBay auction costs (listing fees, final value fee, PayPal fees and any other applicable). All such matters must be resolved within 30 days of receipt of the item.
What we expect of bidders: Ask all questions you may have before the auction closes. Follow all eBay Community Guidelines and other rules. Bid only on what you are willing to pay for promptly. Communicate with us after the auction ends by responding to our billing message. Provide your name and address and desired method of shipment after the auction so we may prepackage items. Send the correct amount in payment, including sales tax if it is due. Send payment so that it arrives within 7 days of the close of the auction. Let us know when an item has been received and if you are pleased so that we know the transaction is complete and we can provide feedback.
