Shakuhachiman, who is he?
My father, the SHAKUHACHIMAN, and me in Japan 1972
Shakuhachi is a Japanese bamboo flute. My father played one since 1969 til his death October, 2006, he was only 60 years old. It is a very beautiful instrument. My father, however, was not Japanese, though my mother is. My father was born and raised in Wicker Park of Chicago. My father taught the shakuhachi for free to many students thru the years and played many festivals and events such as Japan Day at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Science and Industry, played at a party which was thrown by Oprah or attended by Oprah, various other events as well as volunteering at nursing homes.
The last year has been a very hard one for me and my family. My father was my best friend. I called him for no reason and spent nearly every weekend at my parents house. My Grandfather (Dad's dad) died 9/30/06, my father died 10/18/06 and my great uncle (Grandpa's brother) died in December 06. That's not all....
My mother was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's Disease. That's not all.... my son who was 1 year 8 months old came down with pneumonia in March. I spent (with my mom) 6 weeks at Lutheran General Hospital. He had 2/3 of his right lung removed. I then had him transfered to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago where we spent another 6 weeks with a recurrent pneumothorax. During our stay, they found a heart murmur they thought was the size of a nickel. A couple of months after we were released we scheduled his open heart surgery . September 11th my now 2 year and 2 month old son went in and did wonderfully. (they opened up his ribcage, closed the hole and wired it closed) The nickel size murmur was more the size of a Quarter. We went home 3 days later. It's been 5 weeks and he is still doing great. One more week and he will be completely recovered.

My little trooper, Gabriel!
I have sold on Ebay since 2001.
I specialize in kids clothing since I have 4 kids (3 daughters, Arielle, Avital and Maya) and 1 son (Gabriel). I especially like Gymboree, Janie and Jack, Hanna Andersson and Oilily. I also specialize in items from Japan once in awhile since I am 1/2 Japanese and have been fascinated with Japan all my life. Other things I specialize in are tutu's, hairbows, costumes, clothing and other things. I was a fashion design major in college and love to come up with unique things for you and your little ones.
