Some of my surprise finds include works of art, textiles, and a wide variety of interesting books.
I use the following standard in grading the condition of my books.
New = book is in the same untouched condition as new; absolutely perfect.
Fine = approaches the condition of "as new", but without being crisp.
Near Fine = approaches Fine; defects are detailed in my auctions.
Very Good = describes a used book that may show small signs of wear; defects are detailed in my auctions.
Good = describes the average used and worn book that has all pages present; defects are detailed in my auctions.
Fair = worn book with complete text pages but may lack endpapers, half title, etc; defects are described in my auctions.
Poor or Reading Copy = a book that is well worn, its only merit is as a reading copy because it has significant flaws, as described in my auctions, and has only a legible text.
Ex-library (ex-lib) copies, remainders and price clipped copies are ALWAYS noted.
Book Club editions are always noted as so.
Books with remainder marks are always noted as so.
