My passion for collecting started when I moved to San Francisco and started going to thrift shops, consignment stores and flea markets in the bay area. I acquired a sudden taste for vintage objects, particularly mid-century finds as they become routinely available at the stores. I also was helped a great deal by friends who have exquisite and ecclectic taste. Since then, I have been able to blend these habits into a lifestyle that I can call my own. I have respect not only for those individuals who could blend styles from different periods but also for those bargain hunters who have a very keen eye for beautiful objects and can find treasures without spending too much money. After accumulating too much, I later decided to share this passion to the public, and perhaps open a business venture somewhere in the near future.
These are pictures of our old apartment but we have since moved upstairs. I have, however, kept or maintained my ecclectic taste in both furniture and objets d'art. I have also learned more about art and design by reading books, articles, magazines and also by subscribing to magazines and other sources. For beginners, I recommend that you check out Dwell, a local bay area magazine that I think is a good magazine, but if you can afford it, check also Wallpaper. One should not spend a fortune to find and collect wonderful pieces of art and design. If you have a great eye and a passion for beautiful objects, you can always find them on Ebay!
