SWJ Original Award Winning Ring Design

Hi! I’m Kristie Lou the person who makes most of the items in our Ebay store! I have been on a quest as to what to put on this page! I’ve typed & re-typed too many times! So, I’m winging it!
SWJ is a team effort. I work full time from my home studio with the help of my partner--Ian and our kids–Ollie & Sallie. Ian is a computer wiz, so he fixes everything I mess up in the computer, especially when I whine. Ollie & Sallie keep my chair warm when I get up, protect us from chipmunk invasions, & tell us when the mailman is here. And…our family, friends, & many wonderful Ebay customers help us every day, by wearing our creations, making beautiful art from our clay focal pieces, and telling others where to find us!
About me…I am 35, my favorite color is Aqua; I drive a grey car (the yellow one died), have a red sofa, and a silver toaster. I grew up in Upstate New York, lived in South Florida for 10 years, & I now live in the LANCASTER, PA area. If you'd like to see my work up close & in person be sure to visit Gallery 141 in Lancaster, PA. I am there Wednesdays 10-4 and the evening of First Friday 5-9pm!
I enjoy sewing, gardening, mountain biking, hiking, shopping, and most of all—
I love making jewelry & finding and creating interesting stones and focal pieces to wrap!!
I’ll admit, I am a wire wrapping addict and I love collecting stones & crystals – particularly in their natural form! Stones just call out to me & I must have them! I am not at the point where I measure my inventory in pounds, but I’m getting close! I am also hooked on making polymer clay faces & beads for my jewelry & for others to create their own beautiful art with.
Each of my jewelry creations is unique -- I am not an assembly line jeweler. Each stone demands its own setting. I have taken classes in jewelry fabrication over the years, but I am a self taught wire artist. I made my first pendant from a lampwork bead (I made in a glass class) & basic copper wire. Something clicked that day & I realized I found THE THING I love doing!! The more I researched, the more I learned, and the more I loved wire art! When I wore my jewelry creations many people would stop and ask me about them and about buying them…hence… Sculpted Windows Jewelry was born!
When I am not creating, I'm often traveling far and wide for new stones to wrap. I think I own just about every book, magazine, & tutorial that has ever been written about wire wrapping or lapidary. There is no jewelry art form that can achieve the unique designs you can create with wire. The architectural freedom and design possibilities are endless. There is no wrong turn and every artist has their own unique style.
I am very particular about my designs…I meticulously design and create each piece to bring its wearer a lifetime of compliments & joy. All of the wire used in my creations is precious metal— solid sterling silver, pure copper, or 14K gold-filled wire. My designs are not clothing or hair ‘snaggers’ (a peeve of mine) & I hand buff & polish each piece to ensure it is ultra shiny & smooth like silk. The jewelry you see in my store looks even better in person! I love positive feedback & happy customers!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or requests, I do offer custom work at reasonable prices.

Each piece of Sculpted Windows Jewelry will arrive in a bubble mailer, packed in a gift box with a romance card about the history of wire jewelry and instructions for care. Whether you are buying a gift for you or someone you love, your jewelry will be packaged beautifully & packaged to arrive safely!
Clay items are carefully packaged to ensure they make it to you in perfect condition. Depending on the size of the piece(s) I wrap clay in bubbles, boxes, and/or bags as needed to protect them. When I have sampler pieces available I include little clay freebies too--so check your envelope!
Packaging changes for 2008--becoming more environmentally friendly!
--Jewelry boxes will be unbleached, recylced Kraft paper
--Organza bags will be replaced with recycled paper envelopes
--Shipping labels & invoices will be reduced in size to reduce paper & ink
--and, when able I will recycle clean shipping bubbles & mailers
The packaging may not be as ornate as in the past, but I am reducing our paper and ink consumption by half and completely eliminating synthetic foil and fabric waste. IF you do not need individual boxes for your jewelry let me know--I will consolidate to cut back on wasteful use of boxes!
