Bob Mahler started his career at the age of 15, studied exclusively under world renowned bonsai master Susumo Sudo in Japan for four years, and headed up the bonsai collection at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, NY for eleven years. Bob has strong ties to some of the best gardens in Japan and imports trees frequently. He also deals with some of America's best domestic trees and masters including Chase Rosade of New Hope, PA. Bob is available for lectures, lessons, private collection maintenance, and tour/buying assistance. Bob is always happy to work with each buyer, satisfying individual needs. Bob is married to Jess. All classes are held in the Quakertown, PA area (approx 5 miles off exit 44 on the PA Turnpike --Route 476) --approx 1 hour from Philadelphia, PA -or- 30 min. from the Allentown/Doylestown area.

Date: Spring 2008 10AM -4:30PM Class: "Bonsai for Beginners" Class Level: Any Class Description: "Bonsai for Beginners" covers the basics of bonsai maintenance (including indoor and outdoor trees) and a breakdown of monthly care. Class size is limited due to the hands on nature of the instructor. Each student will receive individual attention (as needed) while potting and styling. Each student will leave the class with their own potted and styled bonsai. Fee: $125 **Class Fee Includes: supplies, tree/pot/soil (indoor or outdoor), literature, and lunch **Class Limited to 8 students
Date: Spring 2008 6PM-9:30PM Class: "An Evening of Bonsai Design" Class Level: Any Class Description: Bring the bonsai that pisses you off! The one that never looks quite right. Learn how to shape and style your tree like a master. Class size is limited due to the hands on nature of the instructor. Each student will receive individual attention (as needed) while potting and styling. Fee: $65 -be sure to bring your tools **Class Fee Includes: refreshments **Class Limited to 8 students
Date: Spring 2008 10AM-4:30PM Class: "Rock Planting Bonsai" Class Level: Intermediate Class Description: Design and construct your own bonsai rock planting with imported Japanese Ibigawa Stone. Class size is limited due to the hands on nature of the instructor. Each student will receive individual attention (as needed) while potting and styling. The mystery of keeping these intricate trees alive is covered in detail. Class size is limited due to the hands on nature of the instructor. Each student will receive individual attention (as needed) while potting and styling. Each student will leave the class with their own potted and styled bonsai.
