Hello!  My name is Brenda.  I am a disabled mother of 2 wonderful children who are the lights of my life.  My son is 6 and my daughter is 4.

Shipping:

Buying online is a convenient way to get items.  It is ideal for items that you can't find in stores or for individuals who are too busy to go out to shop. If you are disabled as I am and have small children at home, online shopping is wonderful.  Of course you are looking for bargains, but with that said, you are also paying for the convenience of having an item shipped right to your door.  Please read the following information carefully about shipping BEFORE you place a bid. 

• Once I give your package to the Post Office, I am not responsible for service transit times or delays caused by the Postal Service's handling of your package or weather related delays.  For every item I have sold, I have sent it out within 24 hrs of receiving one's payment.  The rest is up to sources beyond my control. Rating the seller with "slow shipping"  or "delayed shipping" simply is not fair.  Please consider that before leaving shipping and handling feedback. 
• Please remember, if you select Parcel Post or Media Mail, while cheaper, these shipping methods often take longer to get to you especially during the holiday season.
• Items are shipped within 24 hours of receiving your payment.  This excludes Sundays and Holidays.
• Items are shipped using USPS and the levels of service vary depending on the terms of each auction.
• Insurance is optional but recommended especially for fragile items in the unlucky event that your item is damaged or lost in transit. 
• If you purchase insurance and your item is lost or damaged, I can assist you in filing a claim.  Insurance is your best protection!
• Shipping and handling charges do not reflect actual postage. There are many fees associated with selling through on-line auctions (postage, packing, listing fees, picture fees, tape, labels, ink, etc) and they are added into the "handling" portion of shipping and handling.
• Shipping and Handling are not refundable under any circumstance. Please agree with the S&H charge before placing bids. There is no negotiation after auction is closed.  This amount is already figured into the shipping cost listed in your auction or by using the shipping calculator. There are no surprise charges for shipping.
• If you win more than one auction that closes the same day, I will send you a combined invoice...please pay from that.
• In most cases, I do offer a shipping discount for multiple purchases within the same day .  It's the highest shipping charge first, then $1.00 is subtracted off each additional item's shipping charge for each subsequent item purchased.
• If you pay for multiple wins seperately, I cannot issue the shipping discount.
• Some items will not be eligible for a shipping discount due to heaviness of the package or the delicate, fragile nature of the item being shipped.  The auction listing will state if an item is not eligible for the combined shipping and discount.
• Item pick up is not allowed unless stated in an individual auction.

About Hand Crafted Jewelry Items:

• My goal is to present a piece that makes you feel happy to wear.  I often use hand crafted sterling silver beads or hand crafted glass beads.  Because they are handcrafted, each bead may not be exactly the same.  It is these imperfections that give uniquenss and beauty to each piece. 
• The item you see in the auction is the one you will receive.  My items are in stock and ready for immediate shipment once your payment is received.
• I ship within 24 hours of receiving your payment (excluding Sundays and holidays.)
• I use quality components made of sterling silver.  Storing your Sterling Silver pieces in a sealed plastic bag will help keep it from tarnishing.
• I guarantee my hand crafted work.  If your item breaks within 2 weeks of you having received your item, I will repair it for free.  Just send back all the pieces (your cost to ship) and I will repair it and return it to you (my cost to repair and ship back.) Email me prior to a warranty return so I know its coming.  New jewelry items that are not handcrafted by me do not have this warranty.  An auction will state if the piece is a handcrafted item with a warranty.
• Shipping insurance is optional, but recommended especially for jewelry items.

About Pre-Owned Clothing Auctions:

• The items that I sell are not new which means they have been worn by my children.  I don't shop garage sales and resell clothing on Ebay.
• When I list clothing, it has been inspected for tears, stains, rips, loose hems.  If I list an item that has a stain, I disclose that in the auction.
• You can expect that all clothing will have some wear from washing as all clothes do.
• If you have questions about clothing, ask BEFORE you commit to bidding.
• As mistakes do happen, if you receive your purchase and notice something I overlooked, please contact me prior to leaving feedback.
• I've sold clothing on Ebay many seasons and have not had a dissapointed buyer yet.
• SHIPPING: For clothing, all clothes are prepacked before I list them.  That is the only way I can get an accuate weight for shipping.  Items are packed in a tearproof, waterproof bubble mailer to protect your purchase.  Because items are pre-packed, I offer a shipping discount, but I cannot combined the items into one package.  The shipping discount is as listed above....the highest shipping charge first then $1.00 is subtracted off each subsequent purchase.  Remember, that shipping clothing can be heavy especially if you are buying pieces or especially denim.

Return Policy:

• Items are returnable unless stated otherwise in a listing's description.
• All items are truthfully and accurately described to the best of my ability...please ask all question BEFORE you bid.
• Please email me prior to any return and I will be happy to try and work with you.
• If you wish to return an item, it must be postmarked no later than 3 days after you received the item. Item must be packed carefully & returned in the same condition as was sent.
• Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs plus insurance.
• Refunds given are of the purchase price only and do not include shipping and handling fees.
• Refunds may take up to one week to process once I've received your return.

Just What Is A "Sharkgram?"

"Sharkgram" is a word I made up a long time ago after watching Saturday Night Live's "LandShark" skit.  For those of you who have never seen the skit, a "LandShark" knocks at a door pretending to deliver a telegram, flowers or even girl scout cookies.  When the unsuspecting lady opens the door, she is promptly eaten by this "LandShark" (aka Chevy Chase in a giant shark suit.)

Saying or send a "Sharkgram" has become a term of endearment or friendship to those who know me. It is often used to cheer someone up, make them laugh or simply to let them know I am thinking of them...hence the name, "Sharkgram-From-Bren."

FMS (fibromyalgia (fi-bro-my-Al-juh) syndrome) is a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. Fibromyalgia means pain in the fibrous tissues in the body. The pain comes from the connective tissues, such as the muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Symptoms include, but are not limited to: pain, fatigue, sleep disorders, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Interstitial Cystitis, chronic headaches, TMJ, multiple chemical sensitivities, numbness, burning & tingling in arms and legs, balance and coordination problems. 

There is no cure for this disorder as of yet. Physical therapy, therapeutic massage, biofeedback, nutritional supplements and gentle exercise can help reduce some of the symptoms and improve one’s quality of life.

Arnold-Chiari Malformation (ACM) is a rare genetic disorder in which parts of the brain are formed abnormally. Malformations may occur in the lower portion of the brain, the cerebellum, or in the brain stem.

Symptoms of this disorder vary. Most symptoms arise from the pressure on the cranial nerves or brain stem.

One of the most common symptoms of Arnold-Chiari malformations is a headache. The headache generally begins in the neck or base of the skull and may radiate through the back of the head. Coughing, sneezing, or bending forward may bring on these headaches. The headaches can last minutes or hours and may be linked with nausea.

Other symptoms can include pain the neck or upper arm.  Patients often report more pain on one side, rather than equal pain on both sides. There may also be weakness in the arm or hand. Patients may also report tingling, burning, numbness, or pins and needles. Balance can be affected as well. A person may be unsteady on their feet or lean to one side.  Some people with Arnold-Chiari malformation may have difficulty swallowing. They may say that food 'catches' in their throat when they swallow. Another common complaint linked with Arnold-Chiari malformations is hoarseness.  People with Arnold-Chiari malformations may have visual problems, including blurred vision, double vision, or blind spots. 

Currently, the only treatment for this disorder is sugery in which the opening at the base of the skull is widened to accomodate the protruding brain stem and a synthetic membrane is inserted to help support it.  This surgery often needs to be repeated.
