Siofra de Sidhe - Changlings of the Fairy Hills

Here I am with one of my special companions, Diva, a rescued poodle/terrier.

Siofra de Sidhe (Sheefra dae Shee) Inspiration and creativity fill this little desert oasis. But it wasn't always this way. It began in 1979, a small old half-built shack, surrounded by thick weeds, no trees, sitting isolated and forlorn on the banks of two washes. I dreamed of my own "little castle" and the dream filled with magic. Trial and error gardening, a lot of luck, and many trees that "just came". As an artist in watercolors and mixed media, my greatest challenge was making my home a work of art. For years, plants took priority, but slowly I began to master the art of building a house. Remodeling, adding 2 rooms, 3 porches, and doing most of the work myself. I like to think I had the help of Nature's magic as the land and I became one. Invisible energy of elementals seemed to bless my endeavors turning this place into a peaceful sanctuary, welcoming wildlife, cats and dogs, and a favorite retreat for friends and family.

My interest in fairies goes back to childhood, when I knew they were real. Over the years I played with making them real. My first attempts were rather crude and simple, but evolved into those of today. They hide in my houseplants, smile from windows, even drift in the breeze outside. I like to think they intice the real fae spirit to also call this home.
