Back to previous page  Sleepy Aurora Collection Hi I’m Dawn. I’d first like to tell you why I’m sleepyaurora. I had an English teacher who had a great influence in my life and he called me Aurora – which means Dawn. I live on Sleepy Hollow Road. So I put the two together and liked the way it sounded. Sleepy Aurora was born!! The flower that I use as my logo is a section of a gladiola that I grew and then photographed. I love that flower!! Unfortunately the ground hogs ate the bulbs and I have not been able to find that exact color again. ABOUT ME: I’m married. We live in a semi rural area of MD with our 3 dogs. Maggie is 4, a black lab who was in a shelter in Baton Rouge when Katrina hit. We adopted her and she is a love. She keeps the boys in line and has the prettiest face. We call her Moo. Then there’s Fred, the goofiest Dalmatian on this earth. He just lives to make you laugh. You can’t help smiling when you look at him!! Fred was 2 at Christmas, He’s also a rescue. A victim of divorce!! We call him Fred Bob Russell Crowe because he prances around the property like a Gladiator. LOL Last but not least, we have Marley, another Black Lab. We rescued him last fall. He was found in the woods and that’s all anyone really knows about him. He’s about 2 years old. Marley lives for love. He would rather have love and attention than food!! When we first got him he would hug you and just cry and whimper. It was so sad. But he’s a happy and confident boy now. And has the silliest way of walking – he bobs his head and the tip of his tongue sticks out. It’s the cutest thing. And he LOVES the pool. As you can tell we love our dog children!! We adopted all three through a wonderful organization Labs4rescue. www.labs4rescue.com They are a wonderful group of dedicated people working to save dogs lives, Most of the dogs they rescue are labs or lab mixes but sometimes somebody like Fred, the Dalmatian wins their hearts and they rescue non labbies. My husband Al and I are self employed in addition to my ebay business. We have a Sterilizer Service company. I started that company in 1995 and have steadily built the business into what it is today. But this type of company was not my dream. I love our company and all but I am an artist and an entrepenuer at heart. I wanted something more. I started making jewelry a few years ago to cope with stress. Boy did I cope. I made hundreds of necklaces and bracelets. I sold some to friends. I gave lots away as gifts. Then I started thinking – why not sell them on ebay. I have been a buyer on ebay for almost 10 years and it’s the first place I go when I want to buy something. So why not sell my jewelry there, too!! Most of my jewelry features Swarovski Crystals and Pearls. I love everything Swarovski. I decided to sell Swarovski Crystals and Pearls in my store also. I have spent hours and hours finding the lowest cost so I can offer my customers the kind of prices on small quantities of crystals that would normally require them to buy in bulk quantities. I began collecting Barbie’s about 15 years ago and like everything else I do – it was 150% and now I have all these dolls stored away and I’m not enjoying them. So I thought – once again – ebay!! I’ll sell my dolls on ebay. All of the dolls have been stored in a climate controlled, smoke free and pet free environment. I feel that as a long time buyer on ebay I know what a customer wants. Fast shipping with fair shipping costs, accurately described, quality merchandise at the lowest cost possible and great communication from the seller. It is my policy to provide all of the above 100% of the time. Many of my items have Free Shipping. I use the calculated method of shipping for the dolls so my customers pay the actual shipping cost plus $1.00 to cover packing materials. I use a flat rate for the jewelry and crystals and by using First Class Mail can keep the cost very low. And of course, I will always combine shipping for those multiple purchases.
